i'm torn. i want to add another mantis deco to my collection, but this has a bit too much clear plastic for my taste. i wish it was more solid like the original reaper mold. box has it's own number of BB-37 on it, so i'm guessing it's a regular release?
@TIKnTIN Surprisingly this BB-37 (no suffix) is an exclusive. Or maybe it’s a typo and there is some suffix to it.
booo… but if that's the case, makes my decision easier to not get this i guess. maybe this is like the "pulse" version of reaper and there will be a more solid colour regular release.
I might track Vaporwave down if this the only pink one (love the name by the way), but I’d actually prefer it in a solid color scheme compared to this transparent version. Having gotten into Evangelion recently, a Unit 08 colored mantis would be a sweet homage (similar to how the other mantis is a clear Kamen Rider reference).
I think that's the nail in the coffin for my interest in this line. Dealing with HasTak exclusives is draining enough, but with so many of these being exclusives I have ended up paying waaaay too much for because the deco is sometimes better than the original release is somewhat pointless. I'll probably get what I still have on order and be done. It was fun while it lasted, but 52toys has officially taken me out of the game.
Well, that's a shame. I was stoked for a pink mantis, but I'm not a fan of the clear plastic. Since I have Reaper on preorder at BBTS I probably still have another year before it comes in to await other mantis repaints haha
all the pins and clear plastic look terrifying lol, i'm sure it'll hold up ok to being handled but if you drop that thing it's a goner
Same boat, the exclusives and the bullshit with the preorders being exclusive killed the line for me. Just took much work. If I wanted expensive, rare, and hard to find, I'd stick to my iron factory catch up. But with new releases I don't need that strain
Seriously!?! BOTH mantis recolors are exclusives? Can we just get ONE neat-colored mantis over here as a mass release? Very disappointed, I thought that after the blue one, I might be able to get the next one. At this rate, will probably never buy a mantis, now that BOTH of the colors I wanted to see (and 2/3 of the entire production run) are nearly impossible to get.
well monkey king, firmhand w/bonus and richochet w/bonus all made it to some US retailers. so there may be a chance at that for vapourwave.
Regular releases with bonus parts made it to US retailers; exclusive releases have largely NOT made it over here. The Monkey King is the only one that has, I think. This love of exclusives is so puzzling to me. Does 52Toys have a partnership with 6hk666666? Because I sure have given him a loooot of money for some exclusive Beast/MegaBoxes.
