The fact that it thinks it's some big, diverse universe of characters yet only ever really succeeds in small-scale storytelling with a cast around or under a dozen at most.

Transformers has a functioning formula yet seems incapable of recreating it. When was the last time they even used alt modes for disguise? The Bumblebee movie?

 

Completely agree. Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Wheeljack, Ratchet, Arcee, Bulkhead, Windblade, Drift Alpha Trion and the other usual suspects need to get lost. Most of them are pretty bland.

I want a non prick, tech spec logical Prowl, Dreamwave sociopath Sunstreaker, ex-gladiator Kick Off, Dreamwave Autobot monster Repugnus, IDW Whirl, IDW Swerve, G1 Season 2 Tracks to name a few.

Rescue Bots may be aimed at a younger audience but they kept Prime and Bumblebee to a minimum while the 4 Rescue Bots themselves were likeable, distinct characters.

 

This is the thing pokemon and transformers have in common. They shove gen 1 into EVERYTHING. Another problem I have is with... Mostly every single og bayverse character. Optimus's personality is disrespectful to fans of every previous continuity. Bumblebee is an ass. Jazz swears too much, que has an ugly face, starscream is too thicc, Megatron is....just too evil, and not friends with any of the cons. Hound can drown in piss for all I care, at least compared to g1. If he had different personality I would... reconsider. Rachet and Ironhide are... Okay, drift and crosshairs are pretty good, lockdown is great, and WHEELIE SHOULD DIE AT ALL COSTS.

 

How is Bayverse OP disrespectful to fans of previous shows? You just said G1 is shoved into everything, which Hasbro does, so why is it bad that they moved away from that personality wise?

 

compare cyberverse to g1 versus bayverse to g1. Cyberverse has enough to just change the characters respectfully while ackowledging g1. Many characters are good in g1, despite being shoved through everything. Compare the bumblebees. Compare the optimi. Compare the jetfires. A new incaranation that is true to g1 while not being the exact same. Also Micheal bay is a big jerkass, I know that much.

I can't stand how some modern media doesn't show the transformations, either having them transform off screen or behind explosions or whatever, the transformation is one of the coolest parts of the shows in my opinion, I appreciate Cyberverse giving them their own animations

 

They're referring to a woman who calls herself Raksha. In a nutshell, she's a hardcore G1 fan who hates the 1986 movie and everything that came afterwards, especially Beast Wars, and doesn't have much respect for people who disagree with her. She's also convinced that the Decepticons are oppressed minorities who were driven to acts of terrorism by the true villains, the Autobots.

You’ll get no argument there from me, and I see what you’re saying. It’s probably just growing up with the movies that I’m attached to them but I understand why so many people dislike them if you’re an adult by the time they were released. Tbh Hasbro should just make new characters, I mean how many times can they remake the same ones with almost the same personalities and same general designs before people get tired of it???

 

Kingdom turned Megatron into a G1 Megatron fanboy.

 

Honestly over reliance on G1 and every almost every series needing and optimus and megatron dynamic. They should take risks use other villans like Scorponok, Deathsaurus, Overlord Budgeon and Thunderwing proper hell if done right I would take Jhiaxus.
