Unicron was a good couple of hundred more from memory, post release they upped the price to 1400.

Sentinel was 350 on Haslab and 550 on BBTS so I expect a decent price hike.

You do realize what's absolutely hilarious about your odd huffing about this, is that there is a very good chance that some future Japanese toy magazine will have an interview with Takara designers specifically gushing about this project and how excited they were to finally make it happen. There will be double page spreads full of photos of it in Figure King. You'll see this Star Saber posed next to ER Optimus and Kingdom Rodimus. You'll see design sketches and screenshots of Victory.

I think what really bothers you is that Hasbro always gets to announce these things first. I think you feel like that diminishes Takara in some way or "unfairly" elevates Hasbro. But the thing is, it doesn't matter. I don't even think the average Japanese fan even cares-- it's all the same.

Would be nice to see TT or Haslab do one. There is this one, Mastermind Creations R-42 Z-DEF CONTINUUM (thechosenprime.com) if MMC can ever get it out. At the rate they're going TT or HasLab could get one out before them.

 

They held up the prototype in the stream but all the promotional images say some variation of “Digital render shown, not representative of final product.” including the uncropped version of the image in question. They even talked about “working with our render team” in the stream to get the specific poses mimicking box art or poses from the anime.

I think I'll pass on this though. I don't have any attachment to the character(s), and $180 is a bit steep for an impulse buy. Hopefully it gets funded, since so many people do want it.

 

Probably not Red Hot specifically, but if a G1-accurate Holi with decent articulation is in one of the unlockable tiers here, then Hasbro could feasibly redeco it for retail release in maybe the Core class as Stakeout.

Really? No Lego-compatible 1:35 minifigs that have that much articulation...??

Dude...retro packaging got me to re-buy the exact same characters I already had, just so I could display the new ones in the pretty boxes, and any new figures in similar packaging will get me to do it again, regardless of whether or not I already own those characters.

Never underestimate the power of nostalgia.  

 

It's Victory Leo's arm, hanging off the back like the original. Chances are the prototype was too stiff to flip the lion paw back out or the presenters thought it would look nicer with the hand flipped out since it would be shorter. I don't think the fist folds in given it looks to be a solid piece with the paw. That's accurate to the original toy though, and I think that particular piece of kibble will have a lot of play when we're getting in hand pictures

 

Is this live for order in Japan? I'm just wondering when non-US/Pulse orders start to get counted?
