In a post-scarcity world we're going to need holodeck retail stores filled with cyborg-based collector nerds that will stand in line behind us and bitch at us for what we have in our carts.

On a side note, you might enjoy the Army Building Flex Thread in Toy Discussion :)

I have to wonder if we're just hitting limits of what can be accomplished with the molecules found in plastics inexpensive enough to use on hobby robots. There is also a chance that the problem is caused by something outside Hasbro's control, such as contact with specific environmental pollutants during production, shipping, storage, or even in the homes of collectors. It is not a foregone conclusion that these issues result from Hasbro cheaping out. It would take a lot of science and investigation of the affected plastics to determine what breakdown is occurring and what factors are causing it. Maybe Hasbro doesn't even have the right kind of people to perform that investigation, and if they did, there's a good chance it would reveal that it's not within their capabilities to prevent it.

Agreed, the cannon is neat but I can live without it. If Leo had been a stretch goal and we just missed it that would have let a ton of air out of the metaphorical hype balloon.

I’m not sure what else he could really come with as stretch goals but given Galactus is getting full marvel legends figures as extra pieces then maybe including his micromaster son isn’t outside the realm of possibility. The MP did have that massive shield, they could do that I guess.

Maybe even Minerva? They could tweak the mold and reuse it for Nightbeat and Siren to get more bang for the buck from it too.

Whoah. Wash that mouth out, mister! How would a bipedal robot be able to peel bananas with its feet if it didn't transform into a gorilla?

We all know a cassette is the most stupid alt mode of all time anyway. :p

I’m hoping if this is successful, it will give Hasbro incentive to release more Japanese exclusives like Lio convoy from beast wars 2. Or Big convoy.

As I understand it, yellowing plastic is not a Hasbro problem, it's a matter of plastics, like ABS, reacting over time to oxygen. Factors like UV exposure accelerates the reaction, which is why a common misunderstanding is that UV or sunlight exposure is the cause of yellowing when it isn't.

So blame chemistry, not Hasbro for yellowing plastics. If someone has discovered a non yellowing (edit) plastic formulation that:
    1. Meets toy safety standards that Hasbro must adhere to.
    2. Hold up to the mechanical stress requirements that transforming toys have to endure
    3. Be within practical cost guidelines for the budget that Transformers toys are under.
...then by all means tell Hasbro, a multi billion dollar toy corporation, because apparently they would be ignorant of such a scientific breakthrough.

Commercial plastics have been yellowing since their introduction into industry for decades. It's not new and nor specific to toy products, let alone specific manufacturers. Certain plastic formulations are more susceptible than others but all common plastics degrade given time and environmental factors.

You really quickly go to the home page and check the backer number after you back it, which I did not do

I tried to read this entire thread but I just couldn't. The amount of ignorance and the same questions repeated to infinity is just crazy.

I normally despise it when people poke their head into a thread just to say they don't like the figure, but I'm going to do that now. So stop reading if you don't want to see that. The price is lower than the rumours suggested and it's great that both figures are included from the beginning. I think it's cool that they are offering this for JG1 fans that want it. I normally defend things like hollow limbs on figures because it just doesn't bother me on a mainline figure. But on a HasLab figure I don't think it's as acceptable. This figure looks like it was originally going to be a Commander Class figure and they didn't bother upgrading it much for the HasLab version. The way the sword attaches to the jet nosecone looks terrible. I already own the MP version and my opinion is that the MP is far superior to this. And on top of that, I'm still bitter about my Unicron having a blue maw and I don't trust HasLab to not make any last minute cost cuts. So I'm out. Good luck to the backers, I sincerely hope it gets made for you!

Accurate to the toy but in stream they said they're working on it to give it the option to be put into the hilt like in the anime
