That’s a great photo. Always been a fan of Carry. He’s solid and the Ox design made him more visually interesting. I am still holding out hope that they will release a fully painted version someday.

Thanks! I like him a lot too, even though he's an older figure. I especially like the big wings and that when you see him from the back, the flames are very clearly visible.

I think Carry presents Rodimus Prime with the heroic stature that he deserves. I mean, he did defeat Unicron, establish Autobot control of Cybertron and vanquish the Decepticons…after getting Optimus Prime killed.

I was never a fan of MP-09 Kupimus Prime. Rodimus desperately needs a redo.

One could argue that Optimus got himself killed by talking shit to Megatron ("You, beg for mercy? I thought you were made of sterner stuff") instead of just shooting the motherfucker. I'm just saying.

Don't be makin' excuses for the UNFIT REPLACEMENT!

Prime and Megatron were going at it and EVERYONE SAW IT WAS one on one. No DECEPTICON interfered now DID they? Huh, huh? Didn't think about that one, eh?

Preach. If there was any situation that called for Bayverse OP's approach, this one was it.

Lol yeah, I was offered a brand new MP-09 reissue (I think it was a Chinese exclusive) but I opted for this used Carry instead. I grew to appreciate Hot Rod more as a character due to his eventually becoming Rodimus.

Of course I am joking about Hot Rod getting Optimus killed…hahaha! I mean he did plant Blitzwing’s gun right there for Megatron. They knew Optimus was going to make a long-winded speech. It was almost too easy.

Well, my point being that Carry is a great representation and I agree with @Thighvastator that they showed him adjusting to the burdens of leadership, which was an interesting dynamic.

That MP9 reissue turned out really nice though. I got one and it basically solved all the problems the original had. It felt like a totally different toy when I transformed it.

Most of the original's issues were QC related I think, so I'm glad to hear the reissue fixed things and that people have options. Carry is more than enough for me, though.

I like the look of this. If they would rework the articulation, I’d buy it in a heartbeat. I can’t bring myself to spend the money on a figure that can’t move the arms out laterally.

You have to remember that it was a different, more simpler time back then. Back in those days, MP-10 was supreme, Apollyon was the only Megatron on the market and you could buy bubble gum for 5 cents.

The one thing I think we can all agree on, is that Hot-Rod / Rodimus Prime had a bigger role to play in TFTM, than Indiana Jones had in Raiders of the Lost Ark? :D

Even when it was first released, I couldn’t convince mueller to get it. I’ve always preferred better articulation on my figures. It looks great, and no criticism on those who chose to get it, or will now with the re-release. I just would love that design with better arm articulation.

I am not being critical of your decision. Just saying that figures had a lower standard in terms of articulation at that time. I definitely agree that there are limitations. I loved it because it was an early 3P purchase for me and I was blown away aesthetics, durability and engineering. It shared many of the qualities that made MP-10 the standard at that time that I wasn’t aware 3P could deliver.
