I've been on the fence about picking up Planet X Kadmos. This is about the same price as Kadmos' going rate, smaller but scales better with my WFC SS86 figures, G1 styled and comes with Victory LEO. I think it will look awesome next to my Fansproject Dai Z and Titans Returns Overlord, while being much better engineered. I already love that he can hold his sword in two hands.

Honestly I might not even get this guy if it weren't for James Roberts' writing getting me interested in the character.

Cyclonus needs his rival, damn it.

Edit: Also Star Saber really isn't a political screed against religion in general. He's just meant to show the dangers of extremism. Cyclonus heroically defeats him in the name of the same exact god.

This is a luxury item, if the customer base is telling them we want more than what they're offering, they should offer more. No one at Hasbro is skipping a meal because a gap got filled. It's in the early stage of development, so criticism is a good thing as it will help the product grow into something better. I don't care if it's more expensive, just make it perfect.

I'd believe you actually thought this if you didn't also complain about hollow bits on the retail figures. And who cares who it's "aimed" at. They're all people who spend money and make their own value decisions. Collectors are just as capable of assessing the value of a $180 figure and if the gaps are okay or not. Just because you do doesn't invalidate the over 2k people who've already decided they don't think it's a problem.

There are MPs that are known to explode in certain joints if you aren't super careful. Yet they cost hundreds of dollars. People who collect MPs are aware of this and buy them (or not) based on if they think that risk is worth the cost of the figure.

Back the project or not, but don't go on a tirade like you're somehow above the rest of us because you don't want it. I didn't give a damn about Unicron but I wasn't sitting here trying to talk people out of it.

Oh absolutely. And this will wind up just like the Seacons. Bunch of people clucking their tongues about tooling or price or whatever until they sell out at which point "OH MAN THAT'S NOT FAIR I MISSED OUT!"

Maybe the masterpiece is a better figure but it definitely has the same hollow arms on Saber.

MP Star Saber also has ab crunch and ab tilt that this figure doesn't seem to have. Haslab will probably have more range in the lower body, though.

Prototyping is typically done using 3D printed parts as a proof of concept, because the most expensive step in making a proper figure is to research and design high-density metal mold plates. These plates not only have to contain two halves that form negative spaces shaped like each plastic part needed for the figure, but also channels for molten plastic to flow through the mold and into these negative spaces. A lot of efficiency and design work goes into just the channels and arrangement of the negative spaces, and if you do it wrong, the molds perform poorly and may even break down, or you'll have things like sprues that won't come out of the mold properly. And then you risk things like line workers using tools to dislodge them and the risk of scratching the mold - which can cost $THOUSANDS$ to repair. The molds are expensive enough to begin with. You absolutely don't produce any molds until the project is fully approved by the people who sign off on the huge expenses. And if they painted the 3D printed prototype parts, you'd just have tons of ignorant people bitching that the figure looks grainy and shitty instead of bitching that the prototype is unpainted. At least this way a larger number of people can tell they're looking at a work in progress.

Just don't. It's a nothing sequence. Not something to brag about. Certainly not something to put in your signature or subtext on your profile as if it's an accomplishment. Let it go, do not give in to the dark side.

No one cares about Roberts fedora inspired trash heap. We are backing it because he's a silly cartoon hero and kickass toy (s).

I'm not even that big of a fan of Star Saber but still turning him into a religious fanatic just because Roberts couldn't let his old fanfics go is just terrible writing and pure cringe.

Ok, so unlike Unicron, this has my interest. Where can I get a TL:dr summary of how to go about participating and what size he is?

Every time I see that panel of Star Saber killing Mirage I struggle to discern how he did it. It's one single swipe, as indicated by the lines from his sword, yet Mirage is in three pieces all facing opposite directions.

IDW Star Saber was just a miasma of stupidity and a wasted character.

I thought I heard some pretty sturdy ratchets during the stream as well. I'm hoping that's going to help Saber support his weight when combined with Leo. The two Leader Dinobots have something similar in their knees/hips and it's great.

I'm glad this opinion is slowly spreading, because I remember a time where people just worship whatever bullshit IDW writers would spew out.

To be fair... I never said I hated it. Some of the best art is made by the criminally insane!

Backed as soon as I saw that victory Leo was part of the set during the stream, glad it’s on U.K. pulse this time :)
