Ain't these closed boxes? Couldn't you just display the empty box with the figure displayed outside of it?

The point of these HasLab support is to see what people want. They are following the original intent of "The customer's always right." The original phrase said "the customer's always right, in matters of taste". César Ritz, the founder of the Ritz Hotel in London put it like this: "If a diner complains about a dish or the wine, immediately remove it and replace it, no questions asked." This is mostly seeing how many people would want this. This is especially with the engineering, the fact it comes with Victory Leo without needing another tier and the Tier up is getting the Cannon and new blast effects, and all of the other gimmicks involved in this figure. Also, Net Worth ≠ Liquid Money. Liquid Money is all of the money not locked into property and/or licensing (which isn't exactly cheap, if you look at the Collaborative Figures). This is where the term "liquidate" comes from It isn't exactly like bartering. You can't barter with machinery or property.

Anyways, I feel like Patchy the Pirate when he saw the Gone Home "cheap walk cycles". "That's it?" Where is Kingdom Wave 4?!

To be fair, I can understand why something like this would be a HasLab project. I have zero interest in this toy or character and I've been writing about Japan for 25 years. It's very niche for most of us, but for those who do love the Japanese characters, I'm sure this is very much appreciated (and I hope you get it funded). At least this way the unusual stuff gets a fighting chance.

I'll back two as long as star sabers head can nod up and down and turn side to side.

So no actual brainmaster gimmick? The face is supposed to slide up into the helmet, not just be placed in there.

Anyway, a great mainline figure...not really a "moonshot" project that they said Haslab was for. More like a "Target nor Walmart didn't want it as an exclusive" project. I'm sure I'll back it, but hope this doesn't prevent a MP Victory Leo!

I sincerely prefer getting both at once as hefty leader-class-ish figures rather than get one Super Huge Starsaber and hope we can get a victory leo later. Especially for this price.

It is unfortunate that these campaigns rely on secondary retailers to support fans outside the US. Especially since I think this will be another struggle to get to the minimum commitment.

If I'm not mistaken, you've seen some of the scrapped POTP designs, right? If Star Saber was one of the concepts you saw, do you know if any design elements carried over into this project? I'm just curious.

I was hoping we would get a newer Ginrai figure before we got a reformatted Ginrai but it’s still cool to see! Not sure I’ll bite however I am still excited and love the push for more Japanese characters since they are still g1. I’ll probably get a Road Caesar or most of the godmasters when they do them, though.

Backed. Was on the fence, but what the heck.
As for everyone who is upset that they are crowd funding this thing, keep in mind that Hasbro isn't getting you to pay to get this into the stores. This is paying to get made. Real difference. If it wasn't crowdfunded then, like Unicron, it simply won't get made. You may not like it but no company is going to risk the cash involved for a niche figure like this.
So that means everyone who has been begging for Star Saber simply...doesn't get one.
And as for the live stream, I've learned to expect nothing from them. If they're great, yay. If not, I had low expectations any way. We made it decades where the only reveal was walking into the toy aisle. No point getting upset. Hasbro subsists on the pain of Transformers fans.
They binge eat the suffering of GI Joe collectors. :)

I'm gonna get a 2nd one so I can customize it with a sharpie and a bic lighter. "Battle damage"

But I think I would get banned for crimes against humanity if I posted pictures of that.

No good way to have a proportionate brainmaster and head both. I think this was a decent compromise

Titan Line barely sells at retail stores. TRU is mostly gone(dunno about Macys selection), and I've never seen a Titan Class Inside a store since. I know Scorponok was sold in some Targets but non of mine. All my Titan purchases have been online stores.

People were already freaking out about this guy as a commander:

You really think people would be fine with SS taking a city/base bot slot especially with Metroplex on the way?

    Thank you for the information!

I've seen the names used interchangeably so it was never clear to me. Oh well. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet can apply to fictional weapons!

They take plenty of risks. The Ark is a risk. The new variable size of figures within the different price points is a risk. This risk was one that went to far to go to retail with. So they're trying their hand here first.

It also appears Saber's 5mm hand ports can tuck in to his palm like Jetfire's, so he can have both hands clasping the sword.
