Scourge came first. Nemesis Prime is just the boring "evil twin" trope. Scourge is a properly developed character.

Transformers' names are not necessarily limited to just one version of the character.

 

It's a cool look, but I'd prefer a more distinct vehicle design for an entirely separate character

 

I know but Scourge is the reformatted G1 Thundercracker, or the Cybertron Jungle planet's Prime.

Since Armada, Hasbro gives the "Nemesis Prime" name to the black Optimus clones, and Takara gives (in MP) "Black Convoy" the JP name of RiD Scourge for the NP toys.
So Black Convoy = Nemesis Prime.
I know the UT NP's JP name was Scourge. I'm still wondering about it.

1) Scourge came first.

2) Nemesis Prime is (almost always) a twisted version of Optimus Prime created by and serving Unicron. He only has the Decepticon symbol for marketing purposes. He also just grumbles a lot aka no legitimate personality of his own.

3) Scourge is a genuine, bonafide Decepticon. No Unicron connection at all. He began as an Autobot protoform that had his spark corrupted by Megatron. When it came time to scan an alternate mode, Optimus Prime was caught in the scanner along with a tanker truck. Autobot protoform + Megatron's spark energy + Optimus Prime's physical likeness = Scourge. He's also quite a brilliant tactician, but also a schemer looking to usurp Megatron (until his mind was wiped).

 

The "I know but" meant I know RiD Scourge was before NP, and actually I had seen his birth episode (in JP w/ fansub) a lot before I commented here.
RiD Scourge was OP's (in JP Fire Convoy who's not OP) evil black clone like NP for OP since Armada.
Only in the Kingdom NP was created and served Unicron.
Prime: created by Megatron.
ABTF: created by the Eggbots. (OK, it's just for joking cuz he's Red as NP and heroic Autobird.)

Thanks. In fact I have only watched the 1st 10 eps from Armada.
Unfortunatley I only have a boxless and accessoryless G1 Snarl which I bought in this condition for weight price.
And sorry I've forgotten to mention Kingdom OP was NP. I saw Kingdom actually the week when it was released so I know and sorry again.
