They NAILED the "conehead knees" and the different chest. And I think I might like this headsculpt even better than the Earthrise one! I honestly hope it DOES have knees, I kind of want this.

I hope they make Dirge and Thrust too. I\'d love to finally have a full set of coneheads ( even if thrust was a normal seeker in the show)

They can make him a conehead, damnit. Then Has-Bruh can watch us throw more money at them for it, because that exclusives bullshit was messed up.

There have been store listings for these, though, and if I remember correctly we've only seen one listing for Volcanicus (the Ultimate class one). So I wouldn't hold my breath, especially since the only other likely way that would happen would be with each of the Deluxes forming it, and Slug shows no signs of being able to combine.

I see a bit of white plastic behind where the knee should bend if it was articulated, I think the knees just slide in to compress for vehicle mode.

This is not accurate. This Ramjet has been known about before, we just hadn't seen images yet.

Also, there's a re-release of Skullcruncher in the new packaging design as well:

While you're here, i think it's worth adding that I also saw the newest wave of Cyberverse One-steps (the ones listed here) out at the same store as the Ramjet.

Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures for this one, so you're gonna have to take my word for it. But I'm very sure of what I saw. I distinctly remember taking a look at the Soundwave and noticing that it had different paint apps from the original release. (more show-accurate deco this time)

Can someone shed some light on the appeal of Cyberverse?

I checked out the animation and found it to be an enjoyable background distraction, but the entire series of toys/figures just seem... unappealing to me.
    • Low complexity
    • Minimal articulation
    • "Cartoonish" interpretations
    • Emphasis on random gimmicks
I know they have a passionate market but I'm trying my d@mnedest to understand who they are. They're not exactly clogging pegs/shelves.

Oh. Hmm. Guess I haven't been paying as much attention as I thought. Oh well.

    • Low complexity - I personally actually like the lower level complexity. I don't want my Transformers to be puzzles that take 5-10 minutes to transform. Those have their place but they generally become shelf display items. These are great to fiddle with - kind of like fidget spinners.
    • Minimal articulation - I grew up in a time where elbows were awesome. I don't need 12 points to enjoy a figure for what it is.
    • "Cartoonish" interpretations - Not sure why this is a bad thing when it's based on a cartoon.
    • Emphasis on random gimmicks - This is the worst part of them but the gimmicks eating the figure are varying degrees of success and failure.
    • They're cheaper than Generations - This is the one bullet you forgot and, perhaps, one of the main selling points. While Generations deluxes are pushing $22, Cyberverse warrior class figures are largely $15 or less, depending on the store. And the Ultras are essentially $20 equivalents to the $30 Generations voyagers. As a parent or a kid with less cash in his/her pocket, Cyberverse gets you more bang for your buck.
Also, I like the show. Thus, I have a decent Cyberverse collection. Not a completist by any means...but enough to cover two shelves on a book case.

They’re meant for kids. Aimed to be easy to pick up and play with right away with quick transformations.

If these were out when I was a kid would I buy any of them? Probably not for the most part. I accept these aren’t for me though.

With that said though, I like Seekers and have Deluxe Starscream. If this Ramjet is fully articulated and has a decent jet mode, it might entice me.

for me, your complains actually highlighted what made G1 so successful to kids back in the day. To this day I whenever I fiddle around with my G1 figs, it reminded me how awesome those gimmicks were, even if it doesn't work really well (I'm looking at you jump starters!)

Well he's dead, so there's a significant hurdle to get past first.
Beside which Thrust was in the Target 4 pack so it's not like he was skipped over. If anything you want to see Dirge first because he still doesn't have a Cyberverse toy.

Yup. Firecons when they work are a thing of beauty. Triggerbot/cons are another group that I still love messing with.

    Cyberverse is just fun.

For the most part they don't appeal to me; they're largely poorly done lumps with idiotic gimmicks thrown in, and some of the worst pieces of shit I've ever known to come out of Hasbro have been in the Cybervese line (like those bizarre... things... that don't even fully transform).

However, the deluxes (and a couple of others that are roughly comparable to the deluxes) do appeal. They're nicely articulated. Lack of complexity doesn't matter, so long as they look good and transform well. The deluxes have no gimmicks, and for the few non-deluxes I ignore the gimmicks as much as possible.

And then we come to the cartoon interpretation... That's the best part! I thoroughly enjoyed the show (once it got going properly), and quite like having these show-accurate toys. They look a hell of a lot more like what I see on screen than was ever the case when I was a kid back in the 80s.

This Ramjet currently has my attention, especially if it is as well done as Clobber was.

Aside from a select few, I'm usually iffy when it comes to this line. The jet mode will make or break this for me.

I like the Karate Kid-like headband look on Ramjet in the cartoon. :thumb
Too bad the headband isn't painted on the toy version.[IMG]

Kids. Kids find these enjoyable, and the figures are cheap enough for parents to purchase. Some of the figures are good enough for the collectors to buy.
