Sooo... TFSource actually had this in stock and in PA (I'm in Ohio) and it was on sale, plus I had points, so he came to be in my collection.

I'll be honest, it's an ambitious design and the promise is there but never follows through due to the terrible instructions. (So much is missing because you can't see it clearly.)

The plastic *is* wonky. The transformation is something else. The fit and finish is... Uh, well. Fecal-y.

And you know what? I LOVE IT. I LOVE THIS FIGURE.

The plastic is no worse than some other 3rd parties and still better than Alien Attack and some of Keith's other crap. It's surprisingly giving and flexible, not just literally but figuratively as well. It doesn't beat you down and gives you a chance to master it without breaking or breaking apart. Newbies need that kind of flexibility. The literal part, I'm impressed with the trigger assembly and how it can bend and contort as it's supposed to. All of the plastic is ridiculously forgiving.

The transformation is daunting, the first time. Got it down, now. I was able to go to gun in minutes. Tank, a little longer but not bad. It's over-engineered, but it makes sense where everything goes and it's pretty impressive how it does just that.

I do think it's in an unfinished state, so to speak, and it needs some TLC to be "perfect" but man... I really dig this one. I heard all of the horror stories, and some are true but not all. Or, at least it's different case by case.

I'm not recommending anyone go out of their way to nab him but I do love it. Wow.

Shame this killed Bold Forms as a company. The owner/designer has great ideas but he just doesn't know how to translate it properly from CAD to product.

I cannot believe I'm happy with this thing but I am. Man.

Such a shame indeed, I've always loved the design of this one too.
It's like a very cool CHUG interpretation of G1 Megs but at MP scale.

The guy should sell the rights to a competent producer, have it refined then put it to market.

Absolutely. And the accessories actually make sense if you follow the directions. In fact, they're about the only thing that makes sense in the the instructions.

That said, if you figure out how to transform him and compare it with the instructions, you get it all figured out.

I think some of the negative reactions came from people who didn't even bother with the instructions and those are needed on this guy past a certain point.

It's not the item's fault that someone didn't read the instructions for it.

But, if they mass-produced it, I'm sure they'd ditch the accessories.

*sigh* I may be missing parts. Can anyone confirm what's supposed to be in the box? I thought mine was complete but apparently not. Looks like I'm missing one of the small mounting pieces for the scopes.

I have one on one tank barrel that's permanently affixed. I have one detachable one. Apparently there's supposed to be one for the other tank barrel and I don't have that one.

Got mine in this week. You're talking about the parallelogram pieces, right? Mine only has 2 and a there looks to only be two from the videos I've seen. So Weapon Pack Mode isn't doable.

Wow! Thank you for the update, that is much appreciated. TFSource's customer service said the same thing. It's odd how some got the piece (reviewers) and others didn't. Kind of sucks because it would make him slightly better, but that's how the Bold Forms ball bounces. lol

Yeah it's weird. Double checked and only found 2 videos from 5 years ago that has 3 of those pieces. One of which has the third one loose in the box. I got mine from TFSource, too. So maybe they got a bad batch or the production run missed it. Would be nice if TFSource could send parts. They have stock (They had 10 when I ordered and still have 10. 10 is the max they show for all listings).

They're based in MN, but the warehouses are in PA (Wilkes-Barre) and NV (Las Vegas) so all they can do is tell the workers to send an item. They can do part replacements but it takes longer because of this setup they have.

I was definitely going to buy this just to have it because I always wanted a G1 Megs as a triplechanger with the tank mode but not with all of the things I have seen and missing pieces. Gun mode even if modern looks great. If it got to $30-$40 I would probably just buy it and put it in tank mode. This could have been a great project that would have sold well if painted with QC. I remember buying the Wei Jiang MP Megs that I liked a lot (although I had to punch out one of the knurled pins to reverse a part due to misassembly) and it had some similarities to this in originality.

It is an odd coincidence that figures like this and Maketoys Despotron continue to sit on the shelf at roughly the same price for many years now where one is an excellent figure and another is a missed opportunity.

So in December I bit the bullet and bought him for $30. I transformed him once to gun mode and was not having a good time. Today I finally decided to do something else with him and on the way back to robot mode his leg just sheared right off. There's no fixing this or getting a replacement part or refund, is there?

I doubt it. You might be able to contact the retailer and see if they have any more of him in stock. If they do, they might be able to pull the part for you. If not, you'll have to find another figure to replace him. I'd say parts are drying up, though. I can't imagine any more production runs of him have occurred.

EDIT: TFSource still has him in stock. More than you'd want to pay, I'd imagine. https://tfsource.com/products/view/product_id/10925

I'll reach back out to the Aliexpress seller and see what I can do. He literally fell apart on his second ever transformation, I'm impressed by him. He's everything I was warned about and more!

Honestly? With a steady hand and patience, I found him to be far less of a problem than people were complaining about. Is he fidgety? Yes. Is he loose as a goose and wants to come apart? Yes. But once you get him all tightened up and actually take your time with the transformation, I found him to be a lot less of a headache than people claimed. He's still leaps and bounds better than MP-05. That f*ker'll give you PTSD. The shakes, man! THE SHAKES!

Honestly I like his transformation, but the build quality I don't even know how to approach fixing him. Like his leg was a hip/leg was a ratchet joint held in by unknown forces.

It almost sounds like you're actually missing a piece rather than something broke off. That happens more often than we'd like to admit when things are mass-produced like this.

Have you disassembled that hip joint before? There's two little square slabs that the leg slots or pops into. I don't know how to open the other side and am fearful of it busting more if I fo.

I have not. That's the one thing about this figure that I would be afraid to do with it.
