Just finished the Pixel Remaster of FFII on so now I'm playing FFIII. I never liked the look of the DS remake so I'm enjoying this updated sprite version of the NES original.

Other than that, been spending time revisiting some of my favorite console games again, but on PC.

Ok well I put the time towards unlocking them all aha There wasn't any other game I really wanted to jump into at the time and also, I was already in it... meaning I didn't want to jump back in later and figure out where I left off, what needed to be done or anything else. Plus, I got sick, so this killed time.

During the final stretch, the last bit of missions were like 4-7 parts. Frustrating as I just wanted to finish. Then it came down to missing a gig. Took a lil bit before eventually finding it on my map since it blended in with it so well. The last achievement I needed was getting 50 slow-mo kills. Normally with any other game, you could just save, kill, reload save, kill, reload, kill.. etc, but the game wasn't tracking so I spent over an hour getting all that sorted out. Also, the game crashed finally. Not bad, especially after putting alot of hours since last week. Didn't happen at a terrible spot either.

So yeah, got all the achievements. Not sure if there are plans to add more. Total time spent on this game according to Xbox is 3 days and 17 hours. I know a good chunk of that was spent doing money/XP glitches.

Plan on moving to Bugsnax on PS5 next.

Finally had a few hours to play a bit more of Judgment. Didn't get much accomplished, but it was cool to at least get back to it. I probably should have waited until I could have sat down and focused on it like I had done with the Yakuza series over the course of the year.

Bought Monster Hunter World: Iceborne during the steam sale, but not even touched the new content yet. Having too much fun replaying the base game as a heavy bow gunner shotgunning monsters in the face. So many options and facets to the combat that I'm still exploring new weapons and tactics after finishing the game twice already, and like I said, I've not even touched the expansion yet. Wonderful game

Started Bugsnax yesterday, got the platinum trophy today.
Might've put in around 8 hours, idk, but I definitely had more fun with this game than Cyberpunk 2077. Enjoyed the gameplay of catching/collecting. I'd say the amount of content is perfect for what it is.

Now that the next-gen consoles got some used (XSX/Cyberpunk, PS5/Bugsnax), it is time to jump back on the Switch and play some Animal Crossing aha

I've been playing Blood: Fresh Supply, it's a remaster of the original 1997 Blood game with the added expansions. It's pretty tough with even basic enemies able to tear you up if you're not careful but it's great fun. Very atmospheric too. I've just had one issue where I was able to access the hidden level in the second section without fulfilling the unlock requirements but otherwise I've had no problems. Tossing bundles of dynamite at zombies and cultists is still a blast. :)

Is that FFIII? It looks so weird.

Does the game have a story like the DS remake did?

This is the Pixel Remaster version of the original NES/FC on Steam. Story is exactly the same, other than the prologues for the main characters that was added in the DS version.

I just started with FFI with a little time over the weekend, while buying the rest, including the preorder for IV. There will take time now that work is back to fulltime in-person, but so far, not bad for some casual play.

So did they add a save feature between the five final bosses? That was one thing that annoyed me in the DS version immensely. You had to fight all of the bosses in one go and if you died, it was back to doing them all over again.

I've been having a blast with these and can't wait for IV, but for me it's really VI that I'm highly anticipating. As far as Remasters, I find them impressive when you compare them directly to their original NES counterparts. All the new sprite work, widescreen, QoL additions, and re-orchestrated soundtracks have made replaying these very enjoyable.

Not surprisingly, I found FFII the hardest of the three so far, even though I didn't mind its leveling system at all. FFIII is definitely the easiest game and FFI right behind it. FFI had the hardest endboss, with FFII being the easiest.

Btw, did you do the font mod as well? :thumb

    font.gif

Yes. They added a quicksave feature on all of these. Definitely helped tremendously.

After finishing the Minerva’s Den remastered DLC for Bioshock 2 (first time I’ve ever played the DLC for that game) I started on the Bioshock Infinite remaster.

BI is currently on my list of top 10 favorite games ever, and every time I start it I think it can’t possibly be as good as I remember…then I realize it is. GOD I love this f***ing game. The graphics, the gameplay, the setting, the music, the characters, the “infinite realities” aspect, the social commentary…
The biggest criticism I read online about it is that many players think the combat in the 2 previous games is better, but I actually like this one better.

Once I finish it I’ll start on the DLC for it, which like the BS2 DLC I’ve never played. I’ve heard opinions on Burial at Sea are mixed, so I’m curious what it has in store.

I'll have to look that mod up. The font isn't bothering me much, but might be fun to try out a style more fans seem to approve of.
So far, it's certainly more forgiving than the NES version I started when I bought the NES Classic. If I had a complaint so far, it's that I'm unable to make it true full-screen, as in it's full-screen, but still has the window bar with the game's title on the top.

Tsushima is more engrossing and story-laden than I had expected.

In related news, I am playing a TON of Ms. Pac-Man as well.

This is what I use for games that do that :thumb

    Releases · Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming

Download the Borderless Gaming 9.5.6.exe. and run it to always start with Windows minimized to your taskbar. Then just set it per game/application that needs it and never see those bars again.

Just started Zelda BotW. Damn this thing frustrates me. I beat the first temple. Old Man has me go to the tower. Then tells me to scan the other three towers. I do. Then i try to talk to him. He keeps asking if I need help. I delete the markings and try again. I repeat this over and over for 20 minutes or so. Finally i look up guide. Oh you just go to the temples. That was not said. He said scan them. No scan and go to them.

Well did next temple just fine. Then i try the other two but keep freezing. I walk all around the edge. Nope. Finally after an hour i notice with cooking use peppers for heat resistance. Make a dish. Finally! Hit the 3rd temple. Now i need to make more peppers and hit fourth.

i like it, but damn this does not help you much.

I've heard that the biggest problem with BotW is that Nintendo made a sandbox game from 2001 rather than a sandbox game from 2017. There's no direction at all. I've yet to have the time to even start BotW, but I know I'm going to looking up the guides like crazy for that one.
