I imagine this may have been discussed previously, but is there any clue as to whether Lucky Cat/Micro Cosmos are at all connected to 52 Toys?
Different company, however Lucky Cat is using 52toys Clear Boxes in the snaps. @foxracing dropped a few hints about the corrections in the promo renders when the mass production begins.
I mean the simplest answer is indeed that it’s just a separate company imitating their style, especially since I doubt WEP would take kindly to 52T going rogue with a Voltron design whose licensing fell through only for 52T to try to sell it through a “3P” cutout. Still…. it just looked too close to not be somehow related, but, again, it might just be that 52T is doing good enough business to influence other toy designers and companies.
It’s a valid rumour of course but the cube transformation is too simple for something coming out even from the shadows of 52. KT’s digimon cube is also non licensed but yet to be mass produced. Anyway, there’s no copyright for things that turn into a cube I reckon.
They have the cute box robot down to under $70 now. 52Toys Megabox alloy MB-16 TUKURU Maintenance robot Action Figure Toy in stock | eBay
If they were in a totally different size, I would chalk it up to being a mere matter of serendipity of convergent thinking. But, of course, LC had to go and show that they’re obviously aiming at 52T by showing the dissembled Elvis folded up and stored in one of 52T’s “charging cubes.” Still, all that might amount to is that LC themselves are fans of 52T, but working on the less than legal side of the hobby.
Glad to see the TMNT coming soon. I'm excited for Donatello! @foxracing, is that new art for that card game?
Looks like the illustrations from Naoto-san and Ryusei-R that’s used on character cards, catalog etc. Don’t seem to have any brand new art based off the various stock pics posted.
I just cracked open Ricochet this morning and it might be my favorite BB yet! The kangaroo mode is cute and really well articulated (only missing a sideways tail swivel maybe), the box mode has a cool “techno weapon” look to it, and the transformation is unexpected and involved (but still smooth and fun). Similar to Mega Dio in proportions and playability, but in my opinion a little better in each way.
Yes, you get the blue gloves and the little baby - but not the yellow punching bag, that's bonus only.
