Street Sharks, toy line from the 90’s, Storm Collectibles kind of hinted at a new line of them on Twitter: https://twitter.com/StormCollectUs/status/1407447507035037696?s=20 Old ones were okay, pretty durable from what I remember.
Be careful not to take this out of context, Storm US' response was to someone tweeting their list of favourite toy lines and who they’d like to make updated versions. The tweeter said he’d like Storm to do Street Sharks, hence that reply and it definitely got my hopes up. But as has been pointed out on various Storm collector groups, it’s a tweet by Storm’s US account (Bluefin?) and that account doesn’t post announcements or previews, those come from the Hong Kong account. In addition, the US account has previously tweeted things and responded to people about things that never came to pass. As much as I want it to be true, I'd say treat it with a grain of salt until Storm Hong Kong announces it or there's an official reveal.
Everytime I see a Street Shark at like a flea market or something similar a smile hits my face. Something about this brand makes people laugh in like a good way. I don't know that I'd get them but Storm's style is perfect for Street Sharks. I can already visualize what they'd be like and it's such a win. I hope fans of it get Storm versions.
I think I’d buy at least one of these guys. I have a weird nostalgia for the franchise despite never owning any
I'll buy the main four and the main villains...but SC's pretty slow in releasing stuff and tbh I have sort of lost interest in some of the lines such as Tekken and Street Fighter.
Anyone else see the news about new street sharks! Mattel creations is saying three Unproduced figures will get made. Totally on bird for this!
Serious?! Where did you get the news from? And what is Mattel creations? Is it an online store? Thanks by the way!
Thanks Shin! Its been awhile since I saw you…hope you’re ok! Thanks, I’m so out of the loop! Thanks! Need to watch this video! 3 new figures?! I hope we get a redo of the entire line!
It's kinda cool that they chose to do unreleased characters from the original line but yeah,I kinda thought it would be an updated line with more articulation.
I hate when toy companies reboot a brand with high priced collector items. It shuts out the kids who might be interested in it.
Never let it be that Hasbro happens upon a business model that Mattel couldn't copy, but just 100x worse. It's laughable that they can't even match the price-point or presentation that Super 7 is aiming at with their Ninja Turtles figures, despite S7 being a way smaller company.
Mattel seems to be approaching this one more like an art vinyl series than an action figure line. At $75 each, I assume they must be really small production runs. Street Sharks is niche enough that I kinda get where they’re coming from, and I wonder if they’re testing the waters with these releases to see if there’s enough diehard interest out there for a more traditional reboot.
If I had maybe a week or two notice on this I could have budgeted. Not sure why Mattel waited till the last minute to advertise these.
