Partsforming for an Upgrade Kit with unnoticeable "improvements"?

 

He's already pretty much fine as is. Partsforming makes this even less a desire. Good luck to them, but no interest from me.

 

Yup. The worst part is I don't even feel like those parts even address the problems he does have.

Also, while his body does have some issues, the detail work on this guy is one of the very best MPM (or MPM 3P) toys out there- they want to replace some of those amazing details with unpainted plastic...

 

Just to repost with thoughts a few months later. This week was it. With his arms back like this the figure finally works for me. I've kept him this way and I finally love him!

 

I remember a few peeps complaining about the torso being too short on the original some didn't buy it because of that! - and whilst I agree with the comments about unpainted parts, I ain't gonna knock the guy for his efforts.

Is it me or are the exhaust pipe pieces the only bits that are parts forming? Looks like the shoulder speakers and the body section don't mess with transformation to me.

 

You’re right. Strangely, I never noticed. He got far less screen time in robot form in DOTM than I would’ve liked. Too much emphasis on advertising the SLS car.

He had some good moments at least. Doing a break dance after ejecting Carly and Sam, instructing Lazerbeak to K I L L T H E M A L L, and the execution scene.

I also want to mention it's kind of fucked up that when Barricade was pushing Bee to be killed by Soundwave, he shoved him on to Que's corpse.

 

Love this figure but always feel the wait is too short, so I've designed and made an upgrade kit for him!

The replacement parts aren't really worth much. And having to take those side pieces off to transform is still an undesirable. But do you have any idea how many S/ER/K/86 figures need extensions like these that collapse back down for alt mode? Either in their bodies (Soundwave) or their squat legs (Sideswipe)? Such a simple thing that could go a long way.

Not a bad concept, overall. Just not for me.

 

I think it looks nice but I have no interests unless it is painted to match.

 

Thanks for the feedback. You are correct, this is a simple upgrade for this figure that won't involve too complicated amendment, also considering not everyone are expert in dissembling figures with the right tools.
This was an idea that based on my personal "playing experience", that how I come out this kit. As you mentioned on the waist part, it can collapse and it won't affected the transformation to vehicle mode. Thanks again for supporting!

 

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, the final product will be painted with metallic silver on the shoulder and waist parts. To be honest, it may not be 100% match but I think 90% maybe. (see picture)

This figure has any issues or details ??? I'm thinking on gettimg one

 

My copy has slightly loose wrists (a pretty widespread QC issue) and a right shoulder joint that comes undone a bit too easily, but other than that, it’s basically perfect. No issues with the paint or any other joints.

Don’t wait to grab this guy. It’s a gorgeous piece.
