Eh I prefer the Bumblebee movie body compared to this guy, partly cause it broke up the yellow more and I was never a fan of the roof/entire midsection of the car becoming the torso.

That being said, this guy is by far the best looking photorealistic G1 style Bumblebee made compared to other attempts official or fan-made.
[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] (Love all the mechanical detail on this guy but really don't like the head and body proportions)

Also on another note, Optimus should have had the leg wheels.

Oh I can't wait to see the deep red and blue.

Interesting choice to not include the wheels. Certainly unique to the technical look. I can't reference the last technical look that didn't include the wheels. Bay, Knight, IDW, MP10, DW, all have the wheels, can't think of one.

I believe this is a direct reference to the Sunbow Animation Accurate G1 Optimus Prime, Whom never had leg wheels. Seems they actually got it right, down to the white bits on the sides of the legs.

I do get the reference, but I'm gonna agree having wheels in the legs, even on the back, would have been a nice extra detail. Not need to keep things ultra-blocky, if you're adding all the extra detailing and weathering ontop of it.

Oh i get that, but this is the first G1 AND mech based design that has no wheels. Usually no wheels is reserved for a cartoon look.

I mean if the wheels, or lack thereof, makes logical sense in the design I'm okay with it. Like if I can figure out where they went, I mean.

So does the M in MDLX stand for miniature? At 5" tall this Bee will be a lot easier to paint. Add that much needed contrast. This digibash by RVDA seems more a reality now.

I am not the best painter but I finished up these Insecticons earlier this year.

That battle mask sold him to me. And his smaller size. AND his cheaper price. AND, AND it would be a heck of a lot easier to repaint those legs and shoulders, similar to @RVDA digi repaint, due to his smaller size. Speaking of which, here's his post;
That looks a whole heck of a lot better. Could you do a version with his horns yellow, pretty please, with a cherry on top?:D

Nicely done. I wonder if I could sneak these MDLX into MP or CHUG? Also I wonder if they will upscale some of them to DLX?

The masked head makes me like the figure more than I thought. However I really wish they painted the legs black; as is there’s just way too much yellow. Smaller scale will be interesting

I think I might be the only one in this boat with the idea that there's a way to have made Bumblebee's face, and while this is closer to G1 than the Live-Action and Bumblebee movie, I still feel like his face is just the kind that reaches an uncanny valley style.

I think the best bet to match that youthful G1 Face is the one from WFC/FoC, and it would only need a minor realism filter.

So I actually like this figure's face more because it looks like it can articulate the jaw and area around the eyes. The war for Cybertron video game design looks more like a statue.

Plus I like Bumblebee to look like a early twenty something year old not a 7 year old kid.

Eh, depending on continuity, the younger face does work better since he's usually the last bot in the war to be made.

It's also just those slits for the eyes and the sharp face that really contrast to the VW Beetle Alt Mode this model wears. I'm fine for a Bumblebee face being older, but it feels like an old man's face stuck on a kid body when you use the VW Beetle body from G1.

I'm all for the more mature Bee face, but honestly with a head like that, I'd much rather have the dull surprise babyface WFC Bee. The threezero MDLX Bee Face matches more for a younger but more athletic, gruff bot like Sideswipe, I feel.

just fyi TCP has a preorder for bumblebee for $64.99. not sure if that's predictive pricing and they'll change it after tomorrow or if they got a headsup on price and $65 is a ballpark for what it'll be everywhere.

Seems inline with their stuff for that size. I would imagine Optimus will be in the low $100.

I just hope Optimus is a good size and not too small.

That's a great price and very competitive with other offerings. I'm considering buying it if they fix the yellow on the legs. Since that issue seems like a consensus based on the majority, I wonder if they'll fix it before release or at least have the option to swap out the thigh pieces? I might be making this up but I think I recall them altering DLX BB Movie Prime's head sculpt after there were some complaints (though, I'm not sure on this).
