@Seeaich Is it wrong that the biggest complaint I had with MOTU R’tions, was the lack of the bloody theme tune?

Thoroughly enjoyed the rest of it……:)

Bear McCreary does a grand job, though I am hoping that maybe they're saving a fancy full-orchestra version of the classic theme to be the triumphant musical punch when Adam manages to henshin into He-Man again.

Yeah, I think this needs restating. I watched Revelation again over the weekend and apart from the embarrasing and obvious elevated level of quality and care when compared to something like WFC it's also pretty bloody obvious that complaints of Radical Feminist Agenda!!! are wish fulfillment for a certain segment of fandom that WANTS that to be the case just so they can have something to whine about. Usually to an audience.

It had plenty of action, plenty of focus on some interesting (and brave) "Afterlife" possibilities and no shortage of Adam - who as M'Learned Friend has pointed out IS He-dude. And Man at Arms (always my personal fave) ROCKED.

It's perfectly ok not to have liked it, it's also perfectly valid to think you didn't get enough focus on an aspect/character you personally carry a torch for. That is freedom of choice and taste.

What isn't anything like ok is going along with active efforts to misrepresent something we can all see, right there on our own tellys as something it wasn't.

And for the record even as a kid I wasn't a particularly big fan of the original He-Cartoon, really only took MOTU "seriously" as a result of 2000X - which can sort of be viewed as the franchise's Beast Wars in that it took things to a different level of story and quality - and regret giving away most of my 2000X figures, mainly to people in this Thread. Lucky them.

I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with BOTH series going forward. I'm also jealous to an extent that WE can't get a WFC-type Cartoon with anything like this kind of quality. Or cast.

I like the idea of him being in charge of handing out cake at a party,
"100 laps of the garden first, then 50 press ups, show some desire!"

If he hadn't made so much from football he'd have been overqualified to be the scariest PE teacher since Brian Glover in "Kes".

    @we_are_forest,
Apparently the pic is from his Instagram page which is as much a suprise as anything as I would have thought he'd have felt the same way about Instagram as he does footballers constantly listening to things on headphones or opponents chatting before games :D

Post-Fergie he has been United's star performer because he's the only pundit that'll tell the truth on how bad things have gotten. Yesterday's result was made better by his withering assessment :D

    @Brum Bot,

    Xaran Alamas,
    Awww! Thanks! :)

I was in a similar boat back in the day, the heavy-handed moralising in the show was throughout the episode AND there were PSA's at the end, which meant I really felt talked down to by the show, even at age 6 or so, and the necessary-for-broadcast censorship made him an annoyingly pacifist space dad, where OP could have his shootin', fightin' John Wanye side on clear display because "Robots", and I happily dropped the show like a hot potato when the Transformers rolled out. Revelations gave the nice nods to the OG MOTU but not the entire baggage with better animation and the zapping and punching I'd always wanted in the show back in the day, without turning He-Man into a barbarous face-taker to boot!

Hmm. I've just had to glue in each hubcap messing around with this further as whatever glue they used didn't take and was just this viscous, barely sticky gloop holding them in. Fucking horrible.. or quite pleasant, depending on where your mind's at :lol  Be aware.

This is still a cool little thing though.

Mine arrived today too. Will go nicely to help display the ark in shuttle mode. Decided to put it near Unicron and the rest of the movie bots.

He’s doing so much better than we could hope for. I imagined having to carry him around everywhere but he was able to stand again in less than 24hrs which was a staggering achievement given he had both back legs operated on.
Should we ask why you had to catch a meerkat and a skunk?

What's mad is Kevin Smith himself only had to stick to what he initially announced:

    Screenshot_20210823-224038_Chrome.jpg

Instead he did the online equivalent of calling out a bunch of nobodies purely to posture and copper bottomed an otherwise nothing story. And now the show is toxic whatever anyone thinks of it. Actually even the younger-skewed cartoon is getting hammered by vague association, even though that's obviously wrong.

Smith knows about fandoms and how toxic they get, he talks about them all the time. A guy like him must know what happened with Terminator: Dark Fate, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, whatever. Practically everybody else does. But apparently he couldn't resist posturing on Twitter when his work was called into question (quite common in Hollywood that). Afterwards he doubles down by insulting fans and dropping Netflix in it by suggesting they don't care because they still get their subscription money. He was a walking PR disaster. Though tbh Netflix tied themselves up in knots trying to explain why certain characters were black, for instance, and they became part of the avalanche of bad press too.

None of it needed to happen. None of it. They only had to stick to their own brief!

I can't quite put my finger on any particular examples at the moment (Godot?), but I don't know if a character has necessarily to make all that many/any appearances for the series to nonetheless be about them. I felt Revelation was as much about He-Man through his absence (or his presence in others in absence...keeping up the spirit etc) as if he'd been prodding buttock in every episode.

Is that the bit with galvatron? I just started that issue! It's funny to see a bunch of Furman's favourite g1 cons just show up or of nowhere. I'm half expecting Grimlock to turn up

Anyone still after kingdom red alert? West Midland's is weirdly full of them for some reason. All forbidden planets (Birmingham, Birmingham 2 and Wolverhampton) all had multiples.

I remember back in the 80s when each episode of MOTU was a grandstanding morality message showing how we better ourselves through learning from our mistakes, being ourselves and playing to our strengths. If only Revelation carried forward that same moral fiber in its storytelling, eh?

    Oh.

And yeah, anyone with any horse in this race (financial, clout or both) is complicit here. And all it does ultimately is cloud the audiences enjoyment. The Internet fucking ruins everything.

I mean, they had him sacrifice himself without a moments hesitation to save the entire universe. Thats how you write a main character like this out. At least it wasn't some admission that he was weak and the others could do a better job so he just steps aside and quits like a punk. It was nope, i got to sacrifice myself to save all of the Universe but thats ok, i know my friends will take care of it in my absense.

And what they did with adam in the last ep? Loved it. Loved it to bits! That's the kind of hero i was hoping he would be. So glad to hear he's getting a proper arc in the next bit.

also looking forward to seeing teela deal with it and also more of evil lyn. Because lyn was awesome in this.

Bear mccreary is doing the music? Then i expect that to be exactly what will happen. Just look at how perfectly he used the godzilla theme in kotm. Or the old bsg theme in the reboot. Mccreary knows how to do proper music, when to do new stuff and when to kick in an established theme.

    Assuming theres no rights conflict.

@Siege Fan Mate, I'm know I'm not gonna convince you, enjoy your ride on the hate train but Smith having to walk back to spiritual sequel over direct due to IP issues is hardly a cardinal sin in my book, and that's about the only thing that's off base in that entire statement to my eyes. I also question the fandom of the purported fans who kicked off at him, always up for shitty gatekeepers to get the metaphorical back of the hand. So I agree to entirely disagree, and massively look forward to the next half, though not as excitedly as I am towards Live Action Bebop.
That's kinda one of my main points rephrased.
Just had a quick check, and, yep, it's not a brainfart, Mr McC on tuneage for the show.
