Jetfire is great. I think they should’ve decreased the extra weaponry and covered up the underside of the alt mode instead. It wouldn’t take much to make it decent. I love both modes, but that underside does take a bit away and I don’t really use the armored mode. And, when I do I find the smaller accessories superfluous.
Sky Lynx is a great piece brought down a little by the quality control. I fixed then wing connection and the hind legs that kept popping out when rotated. I find the base mode to be the weakest mode, so I don’t use it. He didn’t have one in G1, so it’s a bonus.
Rodimus has that odd cab position. The only issue on mine is the trailer not closing. I haven’t gotten around to fixing it. The robot is great. They should’ve painted the hubcaps and deducted a blast effect.
I’d give them a 4. They’re not perfect, but they are great displays. Jetfire and Sky Lynx are fun to swoosh around. Rodimus… not fun to roll around. Like a brick on wheels.

Jetfire and Skylynx are 5's to me. Rodimus is 4. I wish his alt mode was a little better and the QC sucks on this figure as I have bought 2 now and first one had bad tabs on the hood and both trailers will not stay together. 4.5 overall but I voted 4 since not .5 option.

The only one I have is Sky Lynx, bought at full retail, and I was very impressed. Its a great figure with lots of shelf presence and playability options.

A pretty good figure, you're getting what you paid for size-wise and he is overall fun but nothing really exceptional to me. Solid 4.

    Sky Lynx:
Though I sold him because he no longer had a spot in my collection, he is absolutely one of the funniest Transformers figures released in decades. Just the sure amount of shit and gimmicks he has going on is amazing, and that before you add his Galactic Odessy Fan Club to the mix. 6

    Rodimus:
Looks cool, saving judgement till he is in hand.

3 initially it was awesome when they began including characters like rodimus and motormaster it became bad , you could say whatever you want to justify rodimus but he is not worth the commander price, 60 yes 79.99 no it seems they are too restricted by size classes and this release wasnt going to fit neither on leader or commander so they decide to take the risk with commander class , been honest i didnt need 10 effect pieces and the primus sword, the boxes to store them on the trailer neither

Overall it's a solid 5. No, they're not perfect, but if these guys aren't 5's, nothing is. My kids also super love Jetfire and Sky Lynx. I'm still waiting to ship my Rodimus from BBTS.

Jetfire: It's good at being what it intends to be, but I've never been a huge fan of the overall design - Xtra large cardboard box plane turns into Xtra large guy in a cardboard box robot costume.

Sky Lynx: Also good at being a strong update to the original (minus the motorization), but I think the wings could've used some improvement to make them a bit better looking and hold in place properly.

Rodimus: Can't really escape being a Voyager robot using complexity and extras/accessories to justify its price point, but I really like the stuff I like about it.

They're all in the "above average" pile, though Rodimus is probably the only one I'd feel bad about if I had to give it up.

Yes. Astrotrain deserves a Commander Class, imho. With a shuttle mode that has some interior space. There were too many compromises in height and engineering to get him in Leader class, and then they filled up space in the price point with extra accessories. Fun, but toppings aren't as important as a meal that's balanced on its own.

Another good candidate for a Commander Class Decepticon is Sixshot. Beyond those two, I'm not really sure... Maybe a Cyclonus that similarly has the size to be a sort of playset\vehicle? He doesn't even necessarily need a robot mode in this context. He's Galv's ship!

    4. They're nice, but there is room for improvement. Jetfire had some very small gaps but was otherwise nearly flawless, Sky Lynx had some floppy wings, Rodimus' trailer won't shut and he's kinda small for what you pay.

Sixshot would be great for Commander however it was proven in Titans Return that you can do him in Leader class and still turn out a very good looking figure that works. My only issue with him was that his legs wouldn’t support his weight and the upgrade kits that came out for him fixed whatever else I wasn’t too happy with. Of course at Commander you can give him all his weapons as well as use the budget for some mini MP engineering.

I think that Hastak kinda shot themselves in the foot by adding Jetfire, who’s physically enormous, into the Commander class first because he set an expectation of Commander = Big robot. Had Rodimus come first for whatever reason, and then Jetfire and Sky-Lynx followed I really do think people would be more accepting of the idea of characters in Commander class that aren’t physically huge yet kinda warrant the larger than leader budget.

I won’t deny Rodimus is a bit pricey, but I really don’t think they intend to revisit him for a very, very, very long time much like Jetfire and Sky-Lynx so to me it’s a no brainier to get them now before that $80 or whatever he’s retailing for in the US becomes $280/$380 MISB 7 or 8 years down the line.

Another contender for Decepticon Commander class would be Overlord. I’d love to see that.

Oooh - now why didn't I think of that? And then, down the line, for another Autobot we could really have fun with a more complete Ultra Magnus, bigger, and able to transport a few deluxes on his trailer maybe. But I'm not sure that's worth the slot for a character that's been done so many times so recently. Maybe a bigger Ironworks facility?

Honestly, Ultra Magnus would be great to give him a 1 and end all version that they potentially never have to revisit unless they want to make another design for him but I believe those days are over it’s just rehash and rehash again.

I think it’d be really cool if they could have both a functioning car carrier trailer that was also able to become armour for the white cab bot. Could always come with Mimimus Ambus or whatever his name is and his weapons could become the Magnus hammer. I’d even be open to a third base mode if the budget would allow it sort of what Sky-Lynx did.

I’d love to see some more original designs such as a huge Decepticon tank kinda like what the WFC games did, but it doesn’t have to have a name just be a fun toy for the size class. I’d love to see if it could interact with Micromasters or even deluxes such as fold out runways or compartments. Think of what Armada Megatron could do for Mini-Cons and then apply the same kind of gimmick here.

Jetfire and Sky Lynx were good choices, Rodimus Prime is a total waste at that pricepoint. If you're gonna make an Autobot leader in this size class why not Ultra Magnus? he's a Car CARRIER he would actually have a reason to be significantly bigger due to his trailer feature.

Autobot leaders should always be Commander class. You can’t do a good base mode at leader price point as proven by Earthrise Prime and his piss poor trailer. Genuinely believe that had they made Optimus as the Earthrise commander with a fully decked out trailer, people would be tripping over each other to buy it at $80. Rodimus is no different, just don’t think people have as much attachment to him as they do Optimus which is understandable, but to give him the gun base the extra budget was needed. I also want an Ultra Magnus at the same price point as I’ve said above.

People are too hung up on the pricepoints reflecting size, but in my opinion what they’ve started to do and mix that up is the way forward. Not just for play features for kids but you can get a lot of “legacy” accessories with higher budgets.

I'd agree with you except who was really asking for a perfect Rodimus? Rodimus' trailer isn't as linked to his character as it is with Prime or Magnus and out of the three Magnus deserved the commander class engineering because at least he can actually combine with his trailer rather than just leave it as a pile to the side of him and no easy way to store it when you have a primarily robot mode display.

It's just a bizarre prioritisation, I can understand Prime and I'd rather they did Magnus but Rodimus should have just been a leader class and no amount of hydraulics, accessories that he never used is gonna make me think it was a wise decision to make him at that price point, especially as he has qc issues and no painted rims? haha

I think the logic was pretty clear here. SS86 and a lot of Kingdom were dedicated to the 86 movie cast. Hot Rod/Rodimus is the main character of the movie, so he got the decked out CC release. I definitely wanted a great Rodimus because we've never had a great one.
