Add Coller to the list of artists who struggle to "adapt" Nyx to a more detailed style. She really stands out with her elongated, simple head design amidst these more detailed, three-dimensional designs.

Yeah, Hot Shot having his selects body is kinda dumb. Not as cool as either of his Cybertron designs, just adds to this mounting feeling I have that the comics designs have been more and more generic.

 

What do you mean? Josh Burcham is listed as the CA/A on the Beast Wars issue for November here. Nothing on his socials seem to indicate he's stopped the gig, either.

EDIT: My bad, he shares issue 10 with Winston Chan if I'm reading that properly. But not an indication that he's off the book.

Low-key prefer Chan's artwork from the preview pages, myself. Kinda reminds me of Robby Musso or Dan Khanna's art, in a way.

I'm ashamed to say, with all my extensive knowledge of everything Transformers, I don't know who Minerva is. Please Educate me!

Minerva is a character that debuted in Super God Masterforce, the original character being a young girl who became one of the Junior Headmasters who became the heads for their Transtector Bodies. As Minerva herself was not a fighter, much less able to find joy in conflict in any manner like the War that continued, Minerva was usually the medic in the Battlefield, her only fighting when options are thinned out enough.

Eventually Minerva's Transtector would come to life at the end of Masterforce without forcing the human form to continue on as the head, and with Go Shooter and Cab's Transtectors also going through the same process alongside God Ginrai, the units would join the Autobot Cause and continue to contribute in many ways, notably Minerva working alongside Wheeljack and Perceptor in Victory for the repairs of God Ginrai and eventual rebuilding of Ginrai into Victory Leo

Outside of Japan, however, Minerva was not so lucky as to make it overseas, which was a shame as for awhile, she was the first true female Transformer (until HasTak made Freezon a female via retcon, thus beating out Minerva by 3 years), and would instead be replaced by the character Nightbeat, who did grow a following in the West.

Minerva would be a bit of a very obscure character, occasionally getting sighted in other media, notably Japanese G1's Legends Comics where she was one of the many female Autobots who came to the Legends world in Tigatron's Dream, and getting only really one figure, it being her original toy in 1988.

It's only now she has garnered a semblance of popularity, and in comparison to Nightbeat, she's still more obscure. Her appearance in the Wreckers as a Team Member

and a potential upcoming figure will help her, maybe, but until then, one can only hope the Medic will strike it big compared to her Blue and Yellow Cop Variant.

Loving the Cybertron Red Alert body-type cameo behind Thunderclash on the title page. One of my favorite figures from the Cybertron line.

 

Not only that, there's also a Velocitronian that uses the Cybertron Crosswise Body-type, and one using A-RID Jazz.

Does Octopunch have little crab claw pincers? It looks like Octopunch has pincers on his hands.

I know there's no real concrete evidence for it, but with us getting some core class Pretenders who turn from shell to inner bot alt modes, I really want an Octopunch that becomes a crab, and if his robot mode already has crab claws, that makes it more likely.

The tentacles could easily be used to become the crab legs, as wonky as that may look. I just want this figure idea because of how goofy it would be.

 

Making Octopunch spooky and Cthuloid is a pretty clever idea I gotta say.

 

Honestly, I also suspect there's a bit of synergy with Rescue Bots happening as well, as early concept stuff had him as a 4x4 jeep

Way to make him distinct from Hot Rod and Bumblebee, plus Rescue Bots tie-in, plus getting some use out of the Hound mold (aside from Detritus like, hasbro, please, detritus, thanks)
