That third party Grandus looks pretty good.

Now for Hasbro to steal the design and upscale it to Titan budget when they do a proper Star Convoy.

 

I\'m excited for the legacy line. I\'m probably the only one who is super stoked about tarantulas. Now if legacy can give us a g1 megatron in voyager class. That\'s the one g1 guy that\'s been omitted for too long. Imho.

 

You mean other than the Siege and Earthrise ones?

 

There wasn't an earthrise tarantulas. Lol. I think you are mistaken the seige guy for the proper og deception leader.

 

I think he'd like a modern version of the 1984 P38 alt mode. Probably never going to happen though unfortunately.

 

I'd definitely go for an upgraded version of that mold sold as a Leader class that's slightly larger, has wrist articulation and panels to cover the forearm gaps, and comes with his pistol and 'lightsaber' from the movie.

 

The closest we'll ever get to an accurate G1 Megatron figure necessarily can't have a gun alt mode. Unless society miraculously became collectively responsible with firearms, and the police stucture(at least in the states and similar systems in other countries) is divided into law, medical, psychological, etc divisions, allowing police to have much less stress put on them, we'll never see another gun toy being produced in our lifetime.

Siege/Earthrise Megatron and Centurion/Core Megatron for alt mode is the closest things we'll get any time soon.

 

Unfortunately I don't think Hasbro will touch the idea of having a realistic gunmode on a mainline toy.
There are stories from the 80s about bag checks in airports because of G1 Megs etc I'm sure this is why it's not been revisited.
Hegemon ain't a bad figure, though an official would be nice.

 

Welp. Opened myself up for that didn't I? My point is it would be nice to have a proper G1 Megatron. I dont consider tank boys g1 personally. I know we won't get a proper megs. Just saying it would be nice. I know a lot of you prefer the siegerise bot. And it is a Megatron. Just not g1 or even a great substitute. Just my opinion. Feel free to disagree in a respectful manner.
