Seems like he'll be about the same height as MP-11, maybe a smidge taller.

C'mon now, this and MP52 are almost identical. This is a thread for individuals interested and/or in the market for an MP scaled SScream. It's fair to make a comparison and weigh the options. That's not silly. It'll be different if this were the Zeta Toys Seeker 3p thread, for example.

Heh. Either I'm failing to convey my point or you're failing to get it. Either way, it's not important enough to keep going.

I’m glad somebody feels the same way about paint that I do. The move towards fully painting figures has taken a lot of fun out of this hobby for me. I will never have as much fun with my MP-44 as I did with my MP-10 because I’m afraid of chipping the paint, particularly the yellow on the waist.

And I can’t count the number of times I’ve turned off a BSF video in disgust when he starts pissing and moaning about something that looks perfectly fine not being covered in paint from head to toe. In general, fuck paint.

Definitely taller, considering MP11 is basically the same height as MP52.

Toon accuracy. To my 8/9 year old eyes, Starscream wasn't an F-15 he was a grey jet with red stripes. I know now that the animators were trying to represent an F-15, but what they actually drew was a basic grey jet with red stripes.
I have zero interest in real life or toy accuracy, its all about the toon for me. I don't want my He-Man figure to look like Dolf Lungren, don't want my Inspector Gadget to look like Mathew Broderick. Don't want my Blitzwig to look like a Mig or my TMNT Foot clan to look like that kid from the 90's movie.
For me, my collection is all about nostalgia, to my own memories from my childhood. All my Transformers memories are related to the cartoon (barely had any of the toys, never read the comics) so toon accuracy is what really hits the sweet spot for me. I didn't always understand this as well so while I enjoyed the early Masterpiece stuff, it never quite felt 100% right for me. I struggled for a bit when Inferno came out and alt mode was so far from a real truck but the more I saw of toon accurate stuff, the more I realised that's what I really wanted. Oddly that's also one reason why a lot of TT stuff doesn't do it for me. They've started homaging the static character models rather than the dynamic moving figures from the show so their stuff feels very rigid and posed to me. FansToys in particular has more of a dynamic, action-oriented feel to it, so while TT may sometimes be more technically close to the character model, FT does a better job of triggering that fuzzy childhood memory of robots moving and fighting and running etc.
I've come to realise what I want from my own collection and it's inveitably different fro what others want, I'm just lucky that there's options out there for me that hit that.

Also, thanks @BIOMEC for asking this. My collection and my wants and feelings about it has evolved over time, and questions like that are what help me to stop and think about why I collect what I do, and reflect on how that "why" has changed over time. It's a little frustrating that my habits have changed so much because it means I'm heavily prone to replacing old figures with new, but knowing why I do that helps to salve the financial pain a little.

How far we have come, still super weird for MP3 to be using the F15e with the bulbus conformal fuel tanks over the flat side variants, especially as the f15e wasnt available till 1985.

Those CFTs (then called FAST packs) were available early on and compatible with the F-15C, though rarely fitted. But yeah, they should never have been put on a G1 Seeker.

Blame Kawamori, since the prototypes and the MP-11 didn't have them.

That picture is actually the best I've seen MP52 look. Maybe the comparison with MP3/MP11 is to his advantage, haha.

But DS-01 still looks better than all of them. :D

Now where's our video review already?? People have had this in hand for days! Do they expect us to have patience or something??

I can't get over just how much porkier MP-52 is over all other seeker molds. Using the character model/profile pics are not the best move to base design on because so many look different and better in the cartoon and Starscream is one of them. They should have concentrated on screen shots from episodes and maybe they would've got his height and profile right.

I can't help but think how we've regressed, looking at this.

I know that MP-3 was prone to breakage in the wing joints, but holy shit was that a baller figure.

Wow, to me that looks like a classic left to right evolution image from ape to man.

Add Meteor and DS-01 to the picture in order of release and it would resemble the full thing. Maybe put G1 Starscream at the very back to be the first guy.

NewAge transformation innovation, Transform Element clean sculpt and Magic Square nylon plastic, anyone think this Starscream was a team effort from all 3? I heard the nylon Magic Square uses can take a beating so hopefully this Starscream is pretty sturdy.
