Yeah, and as a result, most of the newer Takara MPs look hopelessly bland to me. I much prefer the level of detailing these newer WFC-era figures provide.
So then logically, if the greebled Generations figures sell out day 1 but the smooth surfaced cartoon style MP figures don't, then the assertion that replicating the smooth surfaced cartoon designs not being the best idea does hold merit. Granted that doesn't factor in the price differential, but I think it's pretty safe to say that globally Generations moves more units than MP does.
I think the figures with a better reasonable price point will move more units then a more expensive line like MP.
I always find the 2D argument a weird one. It implies that things drawn in 2D should never be made into 3D. In that logic Marvel Legends should never be made. Which would be a shame because there are some nice figures in there. And we shouldn't forget that before the wide spread use of computers everything was designed on paper, which is 2D by its very nature. This resulted in some great toys, but also buildings, cities parks etc. Also the cheap element. The original cartoon wasn't made any cheaper than a cyberverse, wfc or beast wars. They always try to produce these shows with the least possible amount of effort (=money). That's why they went non union with the voice actors in wfc and we hardly see any transformations in the show.
Made some adapters to allow Gnaw to have his rear legs in a better position. They mount onto the side of the shark body and the legs just pop into them. Download the files to print below at ThingiVerse. Transformers Studio Series Gnaw - Leg mounting adapter by pezley
They said that the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the 1986 movie was coming to an end, but not the toy line, itself.
I like it. The legs bother me too. I’ve been messing with the figure, and it seems to me that maybe the shoulder assembly was originally going to swing forward in beastmode - to better center under the body. If you unscrew the shoulder panel, the concave part seems to sit nicely on the rounder, white edge of the belly. There’s no actual joint to do this though. Maybe it was a budget cut?
LOL i gues you did not see all the leaks it's not dead and there is going to be a soundwave too and i would not put it past them to make a Devy too.
