Looks like a fun kids show. Don't care for CGI shows normally, but it looks polished. Definitely looks better than Revelations, but we'll see how it turns out.

There won't be much of a controversy. It's not portraying itself as something that it's not. It's clearly a kids show.

I wouldn't say that was controversial, but it was the main reason I passed on the series.

It's worth revisiting. It's the best written Transformers media there is.

Dig this new He-Man take, where the Masters are all kids. Looks like a lot of fun.

I personally don't think TFA is controversial but plenty of people thought so across various TF forums back in 2007.

From what the trailer has shown, this upcoming cartoon could definitely mirror TFA in having an aesthetic that doesn't necessarily give the impression of more competent writing.

This looks like exactly the type of reimagining He-Man needs to appeal to younger kids! I love how far removed this is from stuff that came before because it will hopefully let them get more creative.

How long until controversy? The moment the press release stuff goes mainstream and fans connect the dots to who is who: First Trailer for Netflix's 'He-Man and the Masters of the Universe' Series Reveals the Animated Reboot

You're right. I couldn't see the trailer because I was at work.

Looking at it now... yeah, my TFA impression is strengthened.

TFA was newer and creative, doing things that I liked and disliked. It has a middle-of-the-ground status for me because of that. I anticipate this version of the tale going the same route for me.

    Things I liked:
    - The transformation has Castle Grayskull erupt out of the ground. That's a neat thing to do.
    - Eternia looks like a decent blend of magic and technology, and will be able to have worldbuilding details in it that can benefit the saga.

    Things I disliked:
    - Orko as a robot. He better be a magical one.

That's it for now. It has my curiosity and I will see how this progresses.

Whoa... that girl is a genderswapped Ram-Man? That's new. Again, I will see how this goes.

Well considering this one might actually Have He-man in it, I will remain optimistic for now.

For some reason the like to dislike ratio is almost 50/50, don't know why.

Maybe not among the general audiences it's intended to appeal to, or even the MOTU fandom in general, but you just know the usual suspects are already gearing up the next nontroversy. Younger Man-At-Arms? Gender swapped Ram Man (Ram Ma'am)? Black Teela? Shared Power of Grayskull? Robot Orko? We've already got a few calling it an abomination and talking about how Mattel should "protect the property more diligently." Probably not going to get the outcry Revelation did, but past experience tells me that there are always people looking to stir up shit and overreact to every tiny thing.

I am liking this. It good to have the original, and it would be good to have 200x back, but I like this particular reimagining, too. And I want a Princesses of Power crossover.

Looks like a good show for the kids, I’ll see if my 5yo likes it. The overall visual style and presentation doesn’t seem appealing to me personally though, so far. I wish it success!

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure the rights issues behind the scenes still prevent He-Man and She-Ra from being in the same series.

And then those same people say stuff like, "The other side is always looking for a reason to be angry."

I’m actually waaaaay more excited for this one than revelations. A kids show is exactly what this property needs to survive. Everything about this looks good to me.

Doesn't seem that appealing to me personally, but I can see where it would be appealing to younger generations, and that's what absolutely counts. I can also see this series as being a lot more fitting to have that hypothetical crossover with Noelle Stevenson's She-Ra as compared to those who said they wanted a crossover with Kevin Smith's series. I do have to say, I love the idea of Battlecat being a "Master" in his own right and being a warrior of equal standing with the other protagonists compared to his past (beloved) incarnations.
