Really disappointing to hear - but what he's saying here kind of lines up with what he mentioned in his substack and what Leah Williams said regarding her closing run on X-Factor - seems that Marvel editorial is really just trying to push storylines they think they can stretch for however long they can (I'm guessing until sales drop to a certain threshold) and then they bring in the next phase. That said, really makes me wonder who's really stretching the storylines because previous Hickman runs also had a pretty drawn out middle. It also makes me wonder if part of the reason they're drawing this out is so that it won't resemble the Fifteen Lives of Harry August that people noticed Hickman got the Moira idea from.

Bought that book cause of the link and loved it. Who knew comics could be a gateway back into books?

This in particular feels like the clone saga. People don’t always remember that the Clone Saga was initially something people were really damn excited about. Folks were lining up to read it and Ben Reilly was really well liked. And initially it was all executed pretty well.

The wheels came off the bus when Marvel decided to extend the story and keep extending it. They lost the original writer and no one knew what the hell was supposed to happen.

I was on board with the HoX/PoX take because it was clearly going somewhere and was meant to speak to the nature of the X-men. But if Hickman’s put I feel like we’re in a dangerous place for the X-books.

Well, the cracks have started to appear in Krakoa.

Firstly, the start of Wanda's murder investigation has everything point to Magneto as his daughter's murderer. A lack of cool heads isn't helping out either. (The Trial of Magneot)

Secondly, Onslaught has spread across Krakoa. He's using resurrection to get into peoples' heads. (Way of X)

But Nightcrawler did a pretty awesome move with teleporting an asteroid away, though it killed him. Thankfully he was resurrected. But he may be too late to stop things going down.

Haha i grew up during that era, and I can vouch that the Clone Saga was definitely a great seller, so much so that Ben got his own share of the books over Peter Parker, and that yes, it did go on way too long. I don't remember all the details but they definitely dragged it out and tried to give it all sorts of mystery with Judas Traveler, not to mention a bunch of more clones - and closing it out with Ben Reilly becoming Spidey.

Hawkeye Is Going Back to New York in the New Comic Book Series 'Hawkeye: Kate Bishop'

This November, Kate Bishop’s adventure continues! Marvel’s new miniseries, HAWKEYE: KATE BISHOP is a five-part series that follows Kate on a new adventure in a familiar place: back home to New York.

Following a stint in Los Angeles, HAWKEYE: KATE BISHOP picks up at a turning point in Kate’s life when she returns to New York after being convinced by many friends, and a few clues from the case she’s working, to come back to the East Coast. When Kate gets invited to a resort to solve a mysterious jewel heist, she sees it as a confidence-boost, a sign that she’s making the right decision and not going to backslide into her past. The case is perfect…and it’s almost definitely a trap.

The story comes from an elite creative team including New York Times best-selling author Marieke Nijkamp and artist Enid Balám.

“Because Kate’s story is in flux right now, it’s the perfect time to jump on board for the adventure,” writer Marieke Nijkamp told Bustle. “You don’t need to know where she was to enjoy the journey!”

Be there when Kate’s exciting next chapter kicks off in HAWKEYE: KATE BISHOP this November!

Interesting. I just got all my X-Men collections lined up chronologically on a shelf, and I bet this fills one of the holes I noted in issues.

Okay, I'll be looking for that. The Moira concept is the only thing I actually liked before I gave up on the modern run. Appreciate the info and recommendation.

I guess Conan's taking some more time off. Though if the main series is cancelled, could you kindly let me know, Marvel?

All that leaves then to be released is the material before Mutant Massacre and then X-Tinction Agenda and then everything from Claremont will be available in Omnibus form.

I may be wrong, but if I remember correctly, when Frank Cho did those solo MK Shanna series, he wasn't too impressed or had some other issue with Shanna as she was, so he pretty much created a second version with a whole new backstory unique to those stories. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, anyone.

Got a new Marvel omni today:

Was disappointed though to learn it only has 3 of the 12 parts to X-Cutioner's Song and Part 3 of something called Shattershot. Once again Marvel blows my mind in incompetence. Why bother with Part 3 of some story arc if you aren't going to include parts 1 and 2 and whatever comes after? Just release them in their own book. At least X-Cutioner's Song is in its own book, but god damn!
