I love when people are wrong but still hold onto beliefs like it's the most difficult thing in their entire world to say "oh yeah. I guess I was mistaken, thank you for enlightening me."

It's hard to hear them say that, when I have them on: IGNORE.

I don't do that because 1) I believe in communication, even if the other party is mentally deficient and 2) I don't know how

Click on their name, and then click 'Ignore'.

There is an entire board's worth of members I have gifted the mark of St. Felicia.

Not to stir the pot, but how could we be 100% certain that he is wrong?

From a marketing point of view it makes perfect sense that Dreadwing and stealth bomber Megatron are only in the comics because Hasbro had planned to produce
G2 Dreadwing and ATB Megatron toys.

To me it's the same reasoning why Starscream had his Armada body for a short while and in the new comics Optimus has the Galaxy Convoy body.

It's also the main reason why I stopped reading the comics before the new continuity started, there is way to much influence from Hasbro which polutes the creativity for the writers...

Again, I could be wrong, but that's how I see it

I'll tell you what: if you can find an actual in hand ATB Megatron, I'll entertain the idea. We're giving too much credence to a figure that only existed for probably 3 months in Ohio. I'm not saying it's beyond the realm of possibility but most transformers fans don't know this thing exists much less the general public.
I agree with you about Hasbro forcing toy designs into the comics as well as weird characters. I get why it's needed from a marketing perspective but Sky Byte showing up to recite poetry in the middle of a tense political drama is just weird

Sadly I don't have any proof of it, but I've even seen one in real life. Here in the Netherlands even, must've been close to 15 years ago.
Also had the chance to buy one online even before that, but didn't because it was/is butt ugly, without the box so maybe it was the Takara version
(If only I knew back then that it would become a real valuable one...)
That's the reason why I instantly linked IDW stealth bomber to ATB Megatron

And lets be honest, when Hasbro decided they wanted to make an updated version of G2 Dreadwing, it was to good of an opportunity to pass up on Megatron.

Sky byte... Yeah, almost forgot about that one...

With the ankle breakage reports I'm kind of glad I panic bought one of the originals on ebay after the translucent plastic announcement.

The translucence is an artistic statement on the fleeting nature of life and that we, like the ankles of our 3P figures, will one day fade away. One can also posit that the somewhat liquid appearance the plastic has is a dark mirror of the tears we shed at the incompleteness of the figure and our own soul. It moves me.

time to put 2 and 2 together on the breakages i'm reading about the past month or so.

people say the joints seem tighter. This usually means in general that some parts are probably bigger than they should be ... aka its likely they shrink less after removal from mold than the original material. the one glaring issue with this figure is that the ankle breaks seemingly due to hold size and screw mismatach or potentially overtorqueing. conclusion, GT did not account for the fact (or account for it enough to adjust/groom the mold enough) that the hole would be smaller(due to less shrinkage) than when molded with the original material on the original version. would be interesting if someone would take a pin gage to verify hole diameters of new version vs. original. in any case, if this is the issue, likely all GT needed to do was resize the inserts in the mold that makes those holes. If nobody even thought of the potential problem, that's on GT's engineering team (Assuming they have someone well versed in molding). on the positive side, its an easy adjustment to make if the mold was designed with inserts to make those holes. Hope there is a resolution to the issue.

    Gcreations Megatron WHEN????

This most recent release seems like an unadulterated disaster. I don't mind a little transparent plastic but they probably shouldn't use it for ankles, knees, hips... because when those things break you don't really have a functioning figure anymore.

I wish. Only fix I can imagine is them re-releasing it with nice hard plastic, sending out a massive apology to everybody along with the replacement and making sure all retailers have it indicated that it is a solid plastic version.
