I'm absolutely not a race car guy I just googled it and there was a race car driver called Walter Brun who's the founder of a private Swiss Porsche racing team called Brun Motorsport.
Jazz is my favorite Transformer, so this is awesome, but too many black out nights from Jägermeister in the past make this post a bit nauseating as well! Great job,
Well now I know, so thanks for that! Yeah Jazz is great. How can you go wrong with a guy that turns into a Porsche 935, after all. It's funny that you mention that cause I've actually never had Jagermeister. I think I'm more of a rum or whiskey guy. Thank you for your continued support!
I love this so much. And I can't wait to see the Valliant livery. Are those the petro-rabbits Kup is always going on about?
Thanks! I'll have it done by the time they make new versions of RID2001 toys... jkjk. Thank you! The rabbits I'm talking about represent Vaillant's logo. Vaillant is a company that produces heating and cooling devices. This is the logo present on the Porsche Racecars: And I'm assuming this is the updated, modernized logo:
Ok, so I'm getting very ahead of myself, but I've been looking at various 935 racecars. In the same vein as how the Jagermeister 935 would make a good SG Stepper, I think the Coca-Cola 935 would make a good SG Ricochet: And then there is also the legendary gulf livery: A classic for sure, but I have no idea who this could be used for. Would probably be OC. Also I'm not even sure if this deco exists IRL, it might just be a model. The Apple 935. I think it could be a good reimagination of G2 Jazz, actually.
Here is an update: I've set the rear fenders and added more detail to the front bumper. As you can see from the side view, I sliced the doors. This was to prevent clashing with the new fenders Let's talk about the bumper real quick.I just added a piece of styrene over the stock grill and used clear packaging plastic to cover the head lamps. Paint is sloppy here, but that's ok cause most of it is going to be covered up anyways. I'm pretty happy with the profile. Maybe not perfect, but I think it's fine. I'm going to use more epoxy to refine the details and fill in any gaps. Then I'll wet sand and paint it up.
Hi all, just wanted to post a minor update. I have been painting and sanding this guy: And here are the fenders painted: They were a lot rougher before, so I'm pleased with how smooth they are now. I might actually do some more sanding to get the surfaces even smoother. Afterwards I'll probably paint 2-3 more layers. Not the most exciting of updates, but I've been busy and I just wanted to drop something to let you guys know this is still a thing. For those that are curious, the paint is Tamiya Cobalt Green.
So I see you've already finished the Vailiant livery but for future reference, pattosplace.com has tons and tons of vintage racing liveries and he'll print at pretty much any scale you want (although 1/24, 1/32, 1/43, and 1/64 are the "defaults"). Shipping is from AUS so it's slow and kind of expensive but the quality can't be beat. I've used his stuff for my NASCAR TF customs and various other projects that are all here on Radicons.
He finished it a long time ago.... Here is the post Heavy/Scratch: - G1 Crosswise/Vaillant | TFW2005 - The 2005 Boards
