There is the leader class Dragon Megatron, aka TM2 Megatron. I doubt they would put two Megatrons in the same year even if they are technically different characters.

I do, actually. The Genie is out of the bottle, there's no going back to the way things were. Too many people have a vested interest in the new leak culture to not want it continued in some fashion. Of course, I don't literally mean forever, just that I think this is the new status quo going forward.

Probably. I know a lot of people (myself included) really didn't like how they made Barricade just another Prowl repaint.

Hasbro I'm sure is aware of the leaks and in some capacity is probably feeding into it themselves.

A lot of multimedia companies play double-bluff these days by facilitating tasty leaks and then distancing themselves from it as a sort of guerilla-advertising.

That would probably be why we know as much as we do about ROTB at this point too....

I'm happy to see it's a stand alone release and not part of a set with things I do want. That's very helpful for my collection needs!

Is Hastak aware of how bad was the QC on Kingdom Tracks? You know like the leg tabs being too short.

I was gonna buy that figure but the issue with the legs keeps me off, and I bet that is the case with many other people. I wonder if they are going to do a reissue in wave 5 or something, or even do something similar to Galvatron shoulders (the first run of figures we're misassembled and later ones not).:inquisiti

Not specifically a retool, but a CHUG-styled version that we can use with our WFC collections because we like the character but haven't been collecting Prime figures.

Okay, perhaps it's just me, but when it comes to transformers, specific iterations of a character are tied to certain designs. G1 Optimus Prime isn't the same as Movie, Animated, or Prime Optimus Prime even though they all share the same name. Similarly, this toy might be Knockout in name and inspired by the Prime design, but it isn't a toy of the character that we've come to know and love over the course of the series.

It's like repainting/retooling a Movie Optimus Prime figure and saying that it's supposed to be G1 Prime. Like, it's a cool homage and would certainly fit in better aesthetically in a Movie collection, but it's just not the same as a straight-up figure of G1 Prime.

HFTD Lugnut is a beautiful and unique mold that translates various of Lugnut's characteristics to a different art style.
Knockout is apparently a Jazz with Knockout's head and car front, meaning he already lacks atleast three of Knockout's chief features. Asking fans of the character to be satisfied with that is the equivalent of telling G1 fans that they should've settled for an orange retool of Optimus Prime with Huffer's head as their Huffer instead of getting a brand new mold, or Drag Strip with Mirage's head as Mirage.

I don't like Prime mind you, but I understand the frustration since for years I dreamed of a G1 Barricade and when I finally got it, it was a boring Prowl repaint instead of a true G1 Barricade redesign and there is this feeling of "dang, does that mean i'll have to wait 10 more years for another shot?"

That would be great if that's what we were getting, but everything seems to indicate we're just getting a red Jazz with Knockout's head slapped on.

I am not sure if it has been discussed before, but if both Bulkhead and Knockout are supposedly a G1 redoing of the characters, what is even the point of putting Transformers Prime in the name of the figures? In my opinion, Transformers Prime Knockout should be a cartoon accurate representation of the character and not a G1 Chug whatever crap Frankenstein they are trying to do? So why bother and tease putting TFP in the name?

In Knockout's case, it is because an actual G1 character called Knockout exists, so the "specification" was needed internally.

I mean I won't consider it Prime Knockout, I'll consider it G1/IDW Knockout, the same way ER Barricade is G1 Barricade, not Bayverse.

It's almost like giving the largest fan base almost everything we ever wanted in toys and media is effective in driving the vote. :p

Wish real life worked that way!

Not me, friend. I'm a lover. See you soon. For love. Put the phone down. We don't need to involve local law enforcement.

    Too soon.

Bob, first of all let me just say I'm loving the snazzy break lines and I hope they catch on as successfully as 'equipulator' did(I'll equip you later. Put the phone down. We don't need to involve...).

I think the main thing going against the PotP Elita-1 mold is that no-one can easily forget how bad it looked as Starscream. With his stickers. I genuinely think that Elita-1 is an unfairly malinged figure, and I've enjoyed seeing a bunch of fans stand up today.

I'm struck that you've dismissed 'Dragon' Megatron as a Megatron figure, but not struck in a twattish 'gotcha' and pedantic way. Do you think Hasbro feel there needs to be a G1 Megatron in addition yo any 'other' Megatron? I'm undecided on this myself. I don't think they'd ever do something like 'only' give us an Optimus Primal in a line; We've got to have a red and blue truck Optimus in every Generations line, but I can see them feeling more flexible when it comes to Megatron.

And finally, Omega Spreem or we riot.

Equipulator was my crowning achievement here. I hope to one day hear someone use it on one of the livestreams.

I am rather stuck on the missing Voyager being either Shockwave or Megatron, so I did pass over TM2 Megatron (who is also part of an utterly unbalanced BW offering in Transformers: Generations: Legacy: Evolution: A Star Wars Story). A horrible error on my part. As to the broader question, while I think he counts, it's worth noting that Hasbro went much further afield in making non-G1 Megatrons than OPs (basically every inner bot from R1D through Cybertron is obviously Optimus even if the combined mode varied) so it's a question of fan name recognition vs "ooh, a unique update" on how those are perceived.

Spreem with Jackpot, then some Target 2-packs of Slicer + AM Thundercracker & toy deco Mainframe + Gutcruncher (Warpath), then Titan Double Punch in 2023. Send it all to the factory and watch the money roll in

    Tiny problem with that really.
Cause G1/IDW Knockout looked like Prime Knockout as well.

Until the Hasbro Ninjas finally catch our good men on the leak squad, I think things will be this way.
