I just hope that in the end they'll be like RTS Lugnut where despite being more G1 inspired still retain a lot of their iconic features. I don't like the idea of seeing any other non G1 characters getting the short end of the stick in Generations when it comes to getting faithful representations while the G1, BW, and movie guys get the good stuff. Heck I was worried about them pulling that with BW at one time but thankfully Kingdom showed otherwise.

I didn't mind CW MM being just a cab, (lacked black paint though in truck mode) an empty trailer to store hands feet & other required combiner parts would be fine.
For me though I'd like it to be compatible with the CW figures, not being able to mix n match might kill it for me. I'm really not ready to replace my CW scramble city gestalts, I'm only considering Motormaster beacuse it needed PE to fix the combined mode.
Most importantly though it has to scale with ER Optimus.

Fine with motormaster using half the trailer for his/menasors body and the other half for storing/transforming into combiner parts.

    I'm shocked those fossilizers didn't shelf-warm.

The only thing I've really seen shelfwarming at all lately is the ER/Kingdom Arcee and sometimes Fossilizers, but even those have moved their way off the shelves over time.

Honestly hasn’t been much shelfwarming for kingdom in my area. They toys r us I think had just stocked up on wave two. The only shelfwarming was siege/earthrise stuff and the Walmart has just had a bunch of Studio Series Arcee/b-27 and Dino.

My closest Target has several Kingdom Arcees. That's about it.

My local Meijers hasn't had Transformers at all in seemingly months at this point. They've got a returned and missing Macadam parts Cyberverse Deluxe or two, and I want to say a ramp or two, and that's it.

That's the main issue. MM should never be bigger than Prime. About the same size. If his alt mode is the same size as Prime you can never compress it all to reduce the robot to Primes size. That just does not work. The trailer should and probably will not be part of the Motormaster figure. And I got no issue with the trailer being part of the gestalt and its separate base mode.

SS DOTM Megatron shows that a Motormaster with trailer integrated into the bot mode could at the very least get close to Prime's size in theory, but yea, he'd still likely be bigger

Personally, I kind of like the size difference we have between CW Motormaster and WFC Optimus Prime. It creates a sense that Motormaster is a brute. That said, I absolutely agree with your point. Keeping both robot mode scale and vehicle mode scale consistent between Prime and Motormaster is all but impossible, especially with retaining the combining gimmick. And, while something like DOTM Megatron might theoretically be possible, it would be way overcomplicated. Although, at the Commander price point, it just might work.

It's just like with Ultra Magnus, the cab being the white Magnus bot. Though I hope Motormaster doesn't suffer like the white not does.

I really don't want these new combiners to be CW compatible just because those connection points either popped out at random or would get stuck and I would have to disassemble the torso bot to get them apart. Plus there is a huge gap in quality between the PW figures and the WFC figures that they don't really look good together to me.

Never really had those issues and I've got a lot of CW gestalts (too many to 'replace')

That becomes a problem with this hobby. You can go all in on a subline or wait out for better versions of certain characters that may take years to come out. Look at the Dinobots for example. PotP Dinobots were pretty good and came out all at the same time, but now there are new versions that are more show accurate and to scale with the other characters 3 years later. Other than Optimus and Megatron, you never know when a new version of a character is going to come out.

I’m actually more worried about Minerva NOT being a Headmaster than Elita-1 being one. I love the Titans Returns guys. Headmaster is one of my favorite gimmicks.

Not for me. He’s a Baja buggy, not an F-1 racer. Sureshot and Joyride could be retools of each other, and Slapdash could be done from Mirage. But not Sureshot.

1.) Great display, the transparent plastic sheets are a nice touch to keep them dust free.
2.) That is exactly my point. I see several figures in that collection that got "replacements" in the past 3 years. I only started collecting again after 15 years having seen the quality of the WFC figures and just pick up characters I like with no mold duplicates, and I am already feeling like I am reaching the finish line. Legacy looks enticing for me if it truly is going to be re-imagining of other franchises but I don't need another Bumblebee, Prowl, Jetfire, Starscream, Shockwave, or any of the figures I got already as they work for me.
3.) I think Hasbro is going for Legacy being a mixture of different series to delay buyers being burnt out on the same characters over and over. This way they can keep the same level of engineering in the figures as WFC but with new characters so people keep buying while they try to figure out how they can change the figure engineering so customers want to buy another G1 Style Optimus or Megatron figure.
