It's the SG face, isn't it? Really makes you know he's evil.

It has been a good long while since I had this many open preorders! Kind of exciting. Now if some one will make Broadside and the four Deluxe Insecticons I can call it a day after all this goodness...

Strange that they revealed Camshaft and Overdrive months ago, but no Downshift until today. Now, POs go up for Camshaft and Downshift, but no Overdrive yet.

Anyone know the make and model of the other two that’s not a Supra? I’m not too familiar with the Omnibots

We had a rough prototype of Overdrive like 6 months ago, where's the progress in that?

I think I'll cancel my Trainbots and get these Omnibots instead. I actually have a connection with them and they look good. I can't afford everything now.

Here\'s a question, how essential do you believe it is for MP style (or even generations figs) to maintain the gimicks of their g1 selves? Would you be upset if all the \'armored car\' modes were done via parts forming in service of cleaner robot and car mode?

MP Tracks had his doofy jet mode, and I think it would be unreasonable for an MP Goldbug to be a 1 step changer, like there\'s obvious limits to how much credence you can give the og gimicks, but how gimmick faithful would you want your MPs to be, especially for characters who wasn\'t show based, and who\'s original toy (which the MP is based on) was one main gimmick, such as our lovely ombibots here

I wanna guess Overdrive, if they're somehow kinda pulling a Fans Hobby and how their Grotesque included extras for Doublecross and Repugnus alongside his own.

I'd be fine with partsforming for Hasbro CHUG style Omnibots. MP size, I think the gimmicks should be incorporated.

They did the gimmicks in near-Legends scale 40years ago; they can absolutely be done in *any* scale nowadays, imho.

They are nailing these mf car modes. I might have to get some extra Camshafts to customize, goddamn

I believe it may be entirely case by case.

These Omnibots seem capable of having all three modes without [that much?] parts forming and still look good in each mode. I prefer combiners use separate hands, heads and whatever else to make the combined form look good as opposed to making the individual bots overly complex to hide giant hands or whatever.

I wouldn't need, nor do I want lights, sounds and other such gimmicks at the cost of limiting articulation or creating giant backpacks. While I may tinker with a figure from time to time, such things are wasted effort on an item that just sits on a shelf.

In the case of Goldbug, he doesn't need to have a pull back motor or transform in three steps. Just like the Jumpstarters don't need spring loaded gimmicks or the monster bots need to shoot sparks.

Im sorta surprised that people would want the gimicks in MP's, but i also fully agree on whats being said, technology's come far enough that yea, we should be able to include the more basic gimicks. It really depends on what you view the MP line as, either the most faithful version of a character down the features, or the best looking and articulated version of a character as its main focus.

@Hicks_Royel, id now wanna take that a step further and ask, what kind of representation would you want in something like Goldbug or the monsterbots, if at all? Maybe some really shimmery blast effects for the monster bots? would you want Goldbug to have a weird half/car centaur transformation so he could roll around ?

    -glances at profile-
    yea that checks out lol

They look great and will be the last MP scale figures I will go after (unless they go crazy and offer the prototype colors....yellow Overdrive and green Camshaft)

I don't necessarily need or want blast effects either. Some things just needlessly drive up the price of a figure and have little reward for the effort in my collection.

Fans Hobby did a fine job with the MonsterBots. They are big, well articulated in both modes and represent what the G1 figures were faithfully.

Then... well, you ever drink too much orange Hi-C at McDonald's as a kid?

They just end up looking like they were caught mid vomit.

As GoldBug, he just needs to transform from a gold Volkswagen Beetle to a robot.

Preferably something with a little more style

    than the G1 animation efforts.
