And if we're going to get a core Pretender Iguanus, Hasbro, will you please just make new core SS86 or Legacy Wheelie and Spike/Daniel in transforming exosuits already? And no, the "1-step" (aka flip down Spike's backpack and fall on his face = done) one that came with the little core Bumper Bumblebee doesn't count as transforming. (I'd buy a core Verity Carlo in transforming exosuit too, but I'm not holding my breath.)

I think inner robots should be Micromasters for Deluxe Pretender shells and Core figures for Voyager sized shells.

 

That approach would allow for a more articulated shell. I was thinking along the lines of a MOTU fig (with no waist rotation).

 

Transforming shells with core inner bots, as actual inner bots or even just backpacks would be the dream for me.

 

I always thought Pretenders could work if the core robot formed some kind of weapons backpack or something to the "shell." Maybe be partially integrated and the shell itself have a filler panel that allows it to be independent. Like Bombburst for example would be the shell as it was in G1 only the inner robot forms bat-like wings, then when separated it turns into a bat-winged jet or something.

You'd probably need a Voyager slot to really make it work for all the parts though.

I'm just interested to see how they'll pull off updates using the current wfc engineering. I'm cautiously optimistic hoping this Menasor is better than the Combiner Wars one

 

I'd take a Core and a Deluxe for that. Doesn't even have to be in the same year either. Release the Core inner bot first, then next year release the shell. I'd be perfectly fine with that.

It's not a hard thing to do though  

 

Curious as to how Jhiaxus will turn out. No doubt he'll be colored correctly and be sculpted more accurately (not to throw shade at the T30 one as I actually still love that one both for mold and for the unique parts it had.) Also curious as to what an Energon monster is

$22.99 is a deluxe and $29.99 is a Voyager but what are the $9.99 & $8.49 pricepoints?
One of them is probably Core but what about the other?
The latter two are both getting a Shockwave so i\'m curious...
Also Wild Rider pretty much confirms a new Menasor is happening.

 

Can't wait for a new Menasor, the last try was severely lacking. The limb bots were okay, but damn, Motormaster SUCKED so much ass as a torso.

 

I am really starting to feel as though the figures coming at $8.49 is a mistake.  That price point makes zero sense. I also saw another blog showing ss86 Ratchet($8.49) and even if Ratchet is a typo and it\'s meant to be Ratbat still makes zero sense. 

 

Why doesn't it make sense? That budget would allow cassette formers a lot of accessories and articulation. It's a good thing. And a 1:35 Voyager SS86 Ratchet is coming anyway, a 1:60 one should be of no consequence. No need to say that additional product that we don't have to buy was a mistake.

 

I feel exactly the same way. I'm really hoping SS86 Ratchet is a voyager as has been reported in the past. The ER van mold is such absolute trash, imo.

 

Gotta say I liked that Motormaster overall but yeah he was pretty lacking as a torso. He could have actually been really good had they just done the legs differently and maybe had some way for the shoulders to not be that wide. It's sad cuz he had some nice things going for him too like multihomage chest and the show accurate shoulder stumps.
I'm sure this one'll be more solid overall even if it is most likely just Motormasters with cars hanging off of him

I'm not one to usually knock on a figure but I wholeheartedly agree. I'd go so far as to say the Universe mold was better.
