His alts were always great imo so this doesn't bother me in the slightest.

 

I'm gonna have to go for a better position next year cause these are gonna be expensive. It's looks like we might be a voyager and a core shy IF they don't repack, so there might be a bonus fig in there. Wasn't Nemesis rumored at some point? Having said that, it'll probably be TFP Prime as the repack so you can have an OP in most waves.

I can live with this Bulkhead. Not what I wanted, don't get me wrong, but this isn't TFP, it's G1 so Bulkhead can be whoever they want him to be. Besides, I like the troop carrier concept and Animated homage!

 

This is great actually because I believe the G1 toy pulled-off those modes the best.

 

Is Motormaster himself just the cap in the drawing or also the trailer?

I like them g1ifying the characters. Both prime and animated had great and often very posable toys (unlike G1 and in some cases beast wars) There's no need of redoing them with less budget. It will never be as good. So I like a new take on them.

 

Someone said a while ago that the Nemesis was floated as an idea for Haslab but was abandoned early on.

Be nice if they could reduce his greebling and cut those fold out bits off his forearms entirely.

 

Cool! What do you think of the other Stunticons? Do they use CW Combiner ports?

 

I kinda expect the cab to be the bot mode and the trailer the combiner like how Magic Square did it, but hopefully @Apollux proves that wrong. It's still surreal to think that we're actually getting a new Stunticon team done proper.

 

From what I see, the biggest drawbacks of the G1 alt. modes are the jet mode being a bit too bulky and the tank mode having unconvincing treads. Are those the issues with the new figure?

I'm sorry, but that's a rather weak excuse. This is Generations, not Generation 1, which Kingdom backed up. I give Warden a lot of shit, but I'll at least give him credit for doing BW properly. That's not to say I'm against a new take, but saying that this is G1 Bulkhead is a load of BS.

I guess that's a decent argument. I'm just not fond of the idea of dragging everything down to 80s G1 levels. I've always advocated for CHUG being where old designs are modernized and I'm OK with Prime (and even movie characters) being brought into a unified style that G1 is also altered to adhere to. I don't, however, want to see Generations become the line where everything is stripped of what made them interesting and forced into a boring retro style, from before Transformers had interesting and varied designs.

 

All these leaks are fantastic, but don't think we're burning ourselves out already. We still have gen selects to be excited about!

Really this is the only thing I'm concerned about when it comes to Bulkhead. Is he appropriately beefy or does he just look like grapple?

I’m curious to see what they will do for core Shockwave’s alt mode. He can’t be a gun and they can’t copy the siege spaceship because it used partforming. I guess some other spaceship or some sort of canon

 

The others have been downscaled versions of their WFC counterparts in terms of how they look so what's stopping them from making him a gun like siege?
