Unpopular opinion I liked the Beast Wars art they had been using up until this point. It reminded me of a mixture of MTMTE and Animated. 

 

Woulda preferred they kept some of the details from Josh's designs like Dinobot's arm spikes to keep things consistent and somewhat unique for this universe instead of just fully reverting back to the original TV designs, but aside from that I'm pretty equally fine with the new art as I was with Josh's, looks good to me. As for the story, wonder if we'll see Nyx return the favor and have to save Dinobot this time?

 

the sg wrecker have been mentioned before, but the only living memeber has been rodimus, now we got a idea at who they are, maybe

 

I think they say the SG Wreckers, besides Rodimus, were dead in the old series. Considering we never saw SG Whirl, Roadbuster, Impactor, Topspin or Twin Twist, they seem like likely members.

 

yeah that what i was saying, rodimus is the only living memeber, i was always curious because in sg, you never know who end up where in it, the people we assume to be wrecker might not be wreclers

 

Little let down that SG SixShot was just offed so easily. I think seeing the heroic ninja turn into the evil GreatShot would make for a far more interesting story down the line.

 

Oh its just that some of us here have been around long enough and have read enough Transformers books that when a book like Beast Wars comes out, we have already experienced other books more detailed, more accurate, more in-depth and generally more enjoyable in both art and writing.

Its like someone thinking that Loki is an enjoyable TV show and someone else saying they've already seen better TV shows than Loki.

And #7 looks a whole lot better. I can't criticise it. No exaggerated proportions and the characters are satisfyingly detailed with a more solid presence on the page that actually resemble who they are supposed to - basic things I feel were missing from the early issues.

I\'m pretty bummed they changed artists. I liked the style they had going a lot. This artist isn\'t bad but the character designs are pretty different. I was also looking forward to seeing Blackarachnia and Airazor in Burcham\'s style.

 

For better or for worse, I assume that any Wreckers in this take on SG will closely mirror typical G1 lore rather than the original SG lore.

 

Hell, the writer doesn't even seem to know to call them "Embers" in Shattered Glass!

 

IIRC the new artist is only for a couple issues and Burcham will be back for #9

 

Oh alright then. I'm not as bummed now.

 

If they're making a new universe that's not tied to Funpub's SG, it's not really "not knowing". Hell, Hasbro might have dictated to make things more universal. That said, calling them embers is a nice touch to make it a little different and I would have liked it if they kept it.

 

I honestly think this was ignorance by the author, not simply making a writing choice.
