    Here's another one:

Hasbro don't give a shit about the Bayverse and what it did for the franchise.

Gotta love how DOTM gets nothing for its 10th anniversary while the 86 movie has yet another DVD rerelease and it's own subline of toys.

For what ROTB budget is, and how people fear it's aiming to be too much of a Bay-hem scale spectacle movie compared to Bumblebee, I think it's going to be less of a Bay-scale film than people think.

I don't think it's going to be an "extinction event" type TF movie from the scale they're filming. Or what the supposed story rumors suggest. If it were Bay at this point, he'd be going into the most famous cities or landmarks to blow shit up. Then move to the next famous landmark, ship over super expensive supercars costing thousands of dollars for rental and shipping, then blow more shit up. So far what we've been seeing are pretty niche NYC looking parks with a bunch of overturned cars. That doesn't entirely scream Bay-hem to me. What to expect though? maybe more advanced things than what Bumblebee did.

I'm guessing the action is gonna be more CG-focused this time around.

They did say they wanted to honor the last movies by not relying too much on CG, but without Bay and his team at the helm, I'm guessing the action isn't gonna be as large-scale as Bayformers was.

I wanna be wrong, though. I love a huge, action-packed movie.

Does every series or thing under the sun need to have some anniversary?

If anything I'd prefer if we had fewer anniversary's in general.

Like is a 35th anniversary really necessary? Especially when we got a 30th.

It feels nice when something is acknowledged. Especially if it's less popular than another section of a franchise.

What, is it not allowed to acknowledge more than one thing either?

Unpopular opinion: the movieverse trying to capitalize on G1 Nostalgia by using the names of G1 characters really did some harm to both universes and seldom did Bay make good use of namesake characters. Most characters named after G1 characters should have gotten brand new names and identities, with only a few fitting pretty well (OP, BB, Sideswipe, Soundwave, Laserbeak, Ravage)

TF2007 Megatron does not fit the name or deserve to wear it. His only really Metal accomplishment was ripping Jazz in half, and since Michael Bay portrayed Jazz as a pretty low-brow character, no one really cared. Not even Optimus. "Awwhh, Jazz. Anyway let's get cyber-ice cream."

Yeah a 30th is one thing, but 35th...? Not at all necessary. I would've preferred if it went like, 25th, then 50th anniversary when it became time. Having an anniversary every five years seems silly and makes it seem less special. Even doing it every ten years would make more sense.

Tell me honestly, would you honestly bat an eye if they decided to do a Kiss Players anniversary event? It has just as much of a right to it as Dark of the fuckin' moon does.

Hasbro has dedicated far more time and money to this thing than it honestly deserves, the Bayverse remained as a thing longer than the original G1 toyline / comics did. I'm honestly of the opinion they SHOULDN'T give a toss about the films since all they do is hold TF back.

It got five big budget movies dude, you realize how much those cost to make?

    So... you're just wrong.

Ah yes, because an obscure japan-only series has the same amount of relevance and effect that the third entry in a Hollywood live action film franchise does. No differences in exposure and presence, not at all...

    Get over your biases.

Not my biases, I simply use it as a handy example of a 'series' that is universally not-liked by people almost exclusively incapable of looking at it objectively.

Sure DOTM had more relevance and had a bigger impact, too bad the movie is still shit and thus we aren't missing out on anything if Hasbro pretends it doesn't exist. It's just a shame that had to be one of Leonard Nimoy's final voicing gigs, he deserved much better.

The point I was making that you evidently missed is are we honestly going to treat every TF series or thing as if it's equal to the best parts of it?

I could just as easily say you need to get over your own biases since the only reason you want this thing to get more recognition is due to nostalgia, right? Get over your nostalgia, then. The only reasons these movies have any relevance is due to nostalgia because it definitely ain't because of quality, characters or anything worth a shit.

I would personally laugh my ass off if they did a Kiss Players anniversary event but since there was never a cartoon, only a radio show and a manga, and there were very few toys, because you couldn't really market that to children, I don't think it's likely. I have actually read some of that manga, and no, I don't recommend it. But Glit and Rosanna deserved a better universe.

I'd definitely laugh too, and obviously it's unlikely but that's not why I brought it up. Plus for all its shortcomings its story is somehow not as shit as a big budget Hollywood movie that's more usually more faithful to the characters therein.

Hell in theory the movies should be better than the dinky 80's cartoons because of the bigger budget and yet it's not, it wouldn't even be hard to be better than the 80's cartoons either and they couldn't even manage THAT. Absolutely pathetic.

As if the 86 movie has anything validating/elevating it other than the same kind of nostalgia.
By your own logic, we and hasbro should pretend that everything that isn’t Beast Wars or Animated doesn’t exist and shouldn’t be remembered at all. They don’t fill lofty standards of quality, so they don’t deserve to be remembered.

What a wonderful franchise, where only 9 years of it’s total runtime were ever worth anything.

I'd rather we looked forward more often instead of looking back so much, especially when what's back there isn't that great anyways and we can do so much better. Also it doesn't need to fulfil 'lofty standards of quality' it just has to not be mind-numbingly terrible either. Beast Wars and Animated were well-made and deserve praise for that, I'm not a believer in everyone (or thing in this case) getting a participation award just for showing up and existing since it will make all praise meaningless. Why try to make something truly excellent when you'll get the same level of recognition as the dumb asshole who worked on his assignment the night before and rushed through it?

You and one other I won't name seem to be getting awfully upset reading unpopular opinions in an unpopular opinions thread. What did you expect?

Is the only reason you're feeling this way because you're seeing all the Studio Series 86 stuff and feeling left out? I'm pretty sure Studio Series has made most of the 'characters' from DOTM already haven't they? Laserbeak is coming soon as well. Not sure what else you want.

I liked the idea of the Arcee Sisters, including their unicycle lower bodies. It's too bad they did basically nothing relevant.

There used to be a video archiving animated scenes that never made the final cut, and often times they had some pretty wild ideas that would've been neat to see. Including but not limited to: the Arcee triplets chasing Sideways through an alleyway as he transforms and kinda slams into walls while dealing with them, their combining, Sideways' death looking a lot more 'animated' with his head hanging out of one side of the split car and more that I can't remember. :lol

Ah, found the one I was talking about anyways.
