Eh, Perceptor has gotten third modes for a while now. The TR toy also had a "tank" mode aside from his microscope mode, hell, even the RTS could also kinda transform into a microscope.

 

Agreed, plus the head sculpt looks so much better on the high quality image. I think the shadows on the render make his cheeks look more sunken in than they probably are.

 

Dang, why\'d they have to tempt me so by giving Starscream opening hands...? It was a \"probably not for me\" set before...but now I\'m an articulated hands addict!!!

Most of the Studio Series 86 redos have been great and worthwhile, but this one seems to be a step backwards in a few areas. Easy pass for me, but good news for people that missed him last time.

Well dang. My order of Scourge is still pending from TF-Robots and so I was like, \"Sweeps will be the same, will buy another here in Hungary\"... now I will have 2 Scourges and 1 Sweep. Maybe I will just use that as Scourge? I did hope for some slight color change, but the previously leaked one was the same color as Scourge... Guess this means that was a fake, because it also had 2 balled fists. Overall, I am glad he looks at least a bit different.
Perceptor is just... meh? I kinda do not see him as a big improvement over the TR one, in fact that had a better chest with a real \"mirror\" and the tank mode had the extendable blue parts in the legs. Though I guess with all the stickers, it was more of a G1 toy accurate one, and this is more cartoon accurate? I also expected him to be a Voyager, wasn\'t Perceptor the same height as Blaster in the toon?
At any rate, will grab him, this is only his third toy after all.
Coronation Starscream is amazing. Now that\'s accessories that warrant a Leader size. Surprised how the main toy is mostly unchanged since the leakers said \"weird alt mode\" yet he looks the same. Love how the cape is on a peg, so can be added to many others! And the opening fists are nice, wish he got some wrist rotation too. The throne is huge and quite the surprise. Love it, will have Megatron sit in it.

You DO know there is a Voyager Blaster coming in Legacy, right?
And frankly, coronation Starscream is something most fans do not have since the japanese MP was only released by Takara and is rather expensive by now. This one recreates an epic movie scene, AND comes with a throne for your Nemesis playset.

Y'know as a D&D fan, it always kind of weirds me out that your have the nickname Paladin but your avatar is a demonic face...   (Etrigan?)

 

Love how the Starscream box has no window, so unwitting purchasers have no idea of the tiny toy they're buying for Leader prices...

Again, cool for people that really want Starscream in his funeral clothes.

 

How many swaps do you think we’ll see with people just stealing the new toy and accessories, then returning their old ER Starscream in the tray?

Im a little disappointed that Starscream himself is hardly any different outside the hands. (i kinda hope the hands carry over to any future voyager releases of the mold.)

I know its not entirely screen accurate, but this is Coronation Starscream. some deco changes like a metallic swirl version of his normal colors to hype up his royal ego would have looked awesome. or better yet, have starscream be a grey and dying corpse deco to have it stand apart from the normal voyager, but leave the accessories as is so you could swap them back and forth from the normal voyager.

as for accessories, pretty standard and the throne is really cool, but I would have love to see a crushed version of the crown that fits under the leader class Galvatron's foot.

If I was the one in charge though. I would have said screw it and made "coronation starscream" an anniversary calibration 3 pack instead of just a leader class with the accessories.

Coronation Starscream with all the bells and whistles like the leader class already is, a grey dead Starscream, and a ghost of Starscream.

Ugh...can't decide what to do. The logical side of me says that the Sweep is pointless. The completionist in me says it has a different SS86 number, so I need it.

I did pre-order Starscream and Perceptor. I like the redeco on this Stsrscream vs my ER Starscream enough that it was worth it. And I don't have a Perceptor so that was worth it.

Ugh...do I buy a couple sweeps to go with my Scourge? Then what happens when they release copies of Cyclonus as his "Armada?"
