The listing found at Target is a core class. There are also leaks from reputable sources that have said we're getting both a SS Deluxe BB Movie Ratchet and a SS '86 Voyager Ratchet (with of course their corresponding Ironhide retool/repaints).

I'm definitely in the camp of people who think that chessboard is way overpriced. I mean, you pretty much have to be a hardcore Transformers fan and a hardcore chess enthusiast....hardcore enough that you're willing to spend $600 on both those hobbies. And even if you fall into that group, you'd have to simply care about this. For instance, I like Transformers and I like digital art, but I would have zero interest in a Transformers-themed graphics tablet. Given the choice, I would prefer to have either a nice solid black graphics tablet or a bunch of Transformers toys. I'm guessing a lot of Transformers fan chess enthusiasts would feel the same way. This feels like the sort of thing that would be sold at Books-a-Million for maybe $40 or $50, aimed at casual fans of both things.

I'm sure this will be an unpopular opinion, but I actually don't like that Perceptor much at all. I was interested in seeing a new Perceptor toy because I always liked the character (he's pretty underrated), but to me this is a great example of cartoon-accuracy not working. At least paint the tank treads black and get rid of stuff like the feet sticking out. Preceptor had one of those altmodes that kind of looked like a fan-mode as opposed to a real microscope, and I think there's a lot of room for improvement in 2021. I'd have loved to see a modern Perceptor toy that actually looks like a proper microscope.

I'm really glad Hasbro seems to be branching out and incorporating other continuities and incarnations. I grew up on G1, but I honestly feel like it's been really overdone in the last few years (to the point of actually making me a bit bored of seeing these designs). I honestly don't care much about stuff like RID2001 or the Unicron Trilogy, but I'm glad they're doing some different stuff.

Not sure what the point is if he lacks his Laser Rod gimmick.

Black, longnose semi with a sword?

Perceptor looks great, now I'm in the home stretch for my G1 crew. Also the new boxes look absolutely fantastic, keep it up hasbro.

I forgot about Gigawatt, that door tooling is perfect! They even have pegs for his weapons.

So wait, with Perceptor and Blaster coming soon, and Skids confirmed through listings, that means we'll have every single 1984-85 autobot minus the minibots right?

I mean sure, there's no Earth Hound, but he did technically get a figure in siege.

So now in order to get the entire 84-85 autobot line-up, we just need Brawn, Windcharger, Gears, Seaspray, Beachcomber, Powerglide, and Cosmos right? I think that's the rest of the 84-85 minibots (also possibly a Bumper retool from Cliffjumper, with new car parts like Bumblebee).

Oh yeah, and the Omnibots! We got the Powerdashers after all. We're basically in the home stretch. Hopefully we keep getting a deluxe class minibot or two with their corresponding 86 minibot and/or GoBot recolor going forward (especially Gears, Powerglide, and a nice chunky round boy Cosmos).

We still need the rest of the Dinobots. Plus Blaster’s tapes.

Oh yes that's right. With Grimlock being out and Slag showing up at some stores, I kind of just marked them all off in my head as "yeah they're coming, even if we haven't seen them", just like with Blaster and Skids.

Also, Blaster's tapes are technically 1986. That's how I classify them personally, but yes, we definitely still need them.

    A Laser Optimus gets rumored/confirmed: "WHEN'S SCOURGE?!?!?"

    Every. Dang. Time.

    I do it, too.

It is the obvious repaint for that character, after all. It's like expecting a Thundercracker or Skywarp repaint of a new Starscream figure, or an Ironhide repaint/remold of Ratchet.

Over in the "Post WFC Trilogy Speculation" thread, Apollux said that one of the Leader class listings was for a Laser Optimus that would be a partial of Earthrise Optimus. It's basically reusing the legs from Earthrise with everything from the waist up being brand new tooling (with possibly some minor new tooling on the legs/feet but Apollux wasn't sure) and a brand new trailer. I was born for this moment.

That's me but for Toxitron, from literally any new generations Optimus mold.

Especially this time. Aside from an animated OP mold this is THE perfect opportunity for him.

It's also funny that when RiD does gets representation, it's only Sky-Byte, he himself a repaint, and the easy repaint Decepticons.

To be fair, Laser Optimus is that kind of design that just looks great in any deco. You get the awesome looking Scourge but also an interesting paintjob in Toxitron and my personal favorite repaint, G2 Ultra Magnus. Hell, you can also paint him in classic Optimus colors and it still works (Is just the laziest way to do it).

Anyone kind of wish we'd see Kingdom Galvatron massively reshelled into Energon Megatron?

Not sure since it would make the use of the overused Siege Megatron mould for SG Megatron even more disappointing.

I think they went with Siege/ER Megatron for the new Shattered Glass stuff because they wanted him to sport a more 'traditional' look to match the recolor status of SG Optimus Prime. SG Megatron, as cool as he was, was very much a product of Botcon-era limitation of available molds for better and for ill.
