Gotta say, I'm actually happy they gave the Sweep different colors than Scourge. If the only difference had been the hands, I couldn't bring myself to drop the money on it.

 

Wouldn’t “sellouts” need to have things for sale?

 

I think the main problem is that we already know a lot of unannounced stuff like Shadow Panther, Slammer, Pipes, Blaster, among other things, and most folks are frustrated that the rate of Hasbro's reveals are slower than a snail who got coated in molasses.

While I understand the frustration (I want to see a weaponizing robot turn into a chainsaw as much as the next guy), it's entirely likely that Hasbro is just following a schedule for these reveals and to deviate from that schedule just to appease the people who basically peeked at the Christmas presents when they weren't supposed to might be more catastrophic than we may think it is.

 

The Sweeps are pricier than Scourge! HAHAHAHAHA!

 

Wow, they didn't even reveal Kingdom wave 4?? Just a few SS86 figures and... a chess set?   Hasbro, that's not the crowdfunding project we wanted you to reveal today.   (Also wow, would it ever be impossible to remember which piece was which if you actually wanted to play a game on it.)

Now we have to wait another two weeks for Star Saber? Gosh darn it. Also surprised that they'd reveal it just a few days before Galactus's funding ends, since that's not a lot of time for people to budget if they want both... but I'm sure they know what they're doing (probably).

And oof, that "leader" coronation Starscream is a big nope. Trying to pass off the Earthrise mold as SS86 does not work; the sculpt is way too busy and greebly, and doesn't match SS86's cleaner, more screen-accurate aesthetic at all.

We've got Combiner Wars leader Megatron, MP11, MP-10 (with wheels on his gas tanks??  )... and Classics Bumblebee?? Way to bring back 15-year-old character models for a new mobile game aimed at an audience who wasn't even born then.  

 

Perceptor’s face looks a lot better here. The blurry stream screenshot made it look like his eyes reached all the way up to the brow of his helmet. The weird metallic effect of the render doesn’t help, but he definitely looks a lot more normal.

Still so happy to get a proper Perceptor. Never quite liked the RTS design and I got burned out on TR quickly, so this is perfect for me.

So glad I bought 3 SS Scourges to act as sweeps now  

 

Kinda miffed Coronation Screamer isn't a mostly new mold. As cool as the now opening hands are, I could never get behind ERscream's boxy torso, gappy sides and lack of a wast swivel. I do wanna get a Generations F-16 Starscream somewhere down the line, but I'm not sure if I'll get this one.

Perceptor looks pretty dashing, love the shiny metallic paint on his face. Looks like he will have plenty ankle pivots, a healthy forward kick and most likely a waist swivel as well.

As much as I like SS'86 Scourge, I think I'm good without the Sweeps.

Oh cool, makes fine tuning the tightness of the figure's joints a cinch.

Technically, yes? But there looks to be more panel lining, his hands are now articulated a la ER Optimus and SS86 Hot Rod, and he has his coronation set and a throne.

 

Also I’m gonna assume you live in the us, if so toy have multiple options to secure figures. I’ve never missed out on a figure. There’s options. I’d be glad to help you so you stop complaining

 

Yes, Hasbro only recently started doing this for the money. Until now they've been making Transformers just for the fun of it.  

 

Pretty much. They said they smoothed something on the bottom, added some kind of little details to the top or something and changed a couple paint decos…but yeah…99% the ER mold…plus a cape, shoulder armor, crown and throne. I ordered it since I never got the ER version.

I don't disagree with this. They should have done both. I won't be surprised if KD W4 is done in a TF Tuesday within the next few weeks since today was apparently to celebrate the 35th movie anniversary and nothing else. Don't get me wrong, I think it's pointless and quite silly for them to have not included KD W4 and Jolt/Grindor today. It would have barely added any time to the stream, which wasn't even an hour anyways. But in the end, even though I'm very disappointed to not get the Pipes and Slammer preorders I was hoping to get, I am happy they're realizing their timelines for reveals just don't work and they're actually making a movie to combat that.

For a line called Studio Series 86 what are you expecting?

Didn't read front page news about Legacy, Evolution, or whatever next year's iteration is called? About how we're getting a Transmetal Dragon Megatron? A Bulkhead? All in 2022?

But let's continue to complain and cry endless salty manbaby tears about too much G1. It's entertainment on TFW at this point!
