The movie was THIRTY FIVE years ago.
I totally miss the days when every year would bring something new and creative. Haven't had a really "new" series with decent toys since Transformers Prime. Now the biggest excitement is that The Sweeps have a lighter blue and swapped hands!
Can't even use the argument anymore that these new versions of old characters are a way for newer fans to play with toys they never could have experienced back in G1 days. This is our THIRD Perceptor in like 5 years or so. Yup, still a microscope with a wonky tank mode. Just sell me a throne and the accessories so I can put them on the EXACT SAME STARSCREAM you released a year ago. Easy pass on all 3 of these guys for me.
It's time for the franchise to grow.

Lmao that was my favourite part where there blabbering about how old the movie is . For me it’s like no shut the hell up I was born nearly two decades after the movie released.

 

That's the bonus of them being identical figures. Put one in jet mode, one in robot mode, and never worry about scraping paint ever again.

Right now its not so bad for that since not many people are going. Saw 'The Suicide Squad' on a Saturday matinee at an IMax, maybe thirty people and they were scattered all over. I still wear a mask, though, and have been fully vaxxed since early February.

 

I am very excited for the new perceptor and coronation starscream. I understand that the 86 movie is important to the franchise, but I wish they would use these events to talk about the other lines such as kingdom and generations selects. I mean, if I’m not mistaken the last fan first event was only ss86. I agree that it is frustrating that we are seeing leaked images of figures stolen from the factories, while they are discussing figures that are still in the prototype stage.

 

I just want a mainstream Seeker that improves on THIS.

HOLY FUCK!!! TODAY IS A GOOD DAY!!!! That Studio Series Perceptor looks absolutely freaking amazing!!!! IMO It easily rivals Tesla 2.0!!!! What an absolute MP!!!! And that Studio Series STARSCREAM!!!!!!!                    So much nostalgia!! Brings back so many good memories!!!! They are both my absolute favorites! Bravo Hasbro! Bravo!!! Keep'em Coming! Love! Love! Love! The direction that Hasbro is taking Studio Series!!!! Let's GOOOOOO!!!!!

You can thank the fandom for that, some of us were perfectly content with the earlier Generations direction (reimagining) but no, there were screams to get articulated G1 designs. So that's what we're getting...

If it's any consolation they still do original stuff, like the Fossilizers this year. I hate the Fossilizers but appreciate that they are new characters and a new design direction.

 

Like the added detail with starscream but in my country he will be double the price of his voyager counterpart and come with shoulder pads and a fucking toilet.
