Here's something to discuss, on a scale of 1 to 10 how important is Devcon to your collection?

For me he's a 4. No doubt he looks gorgeous but he's just not a high priority for me to get. If he gets made I might get him but only when I complete my main collection and have cash to spare for novelties like him, Overload, and a couple CHUGs.

At this point I don't think they're going to bother talking about the movie figures. We've had two FFF's go by without them acknowledging thrust, jolt, or grindor. Most they got was an instagram post, and that one didn't even include sideswipe.

 

It's a fair question. Lots of people clamor for him but how big of a priority is he for people?

I'd say for me he's about a 6. Completing the whole DOTM cast is a huge goal of mine so I'd love it if he was included in Studio Series and would buy him with no hesitations. Overall though, Devcon is a lesser priority than other core characters like DOTM Bumblebee, Hatchet, Que, or Sideways. Those characters are definitely a 9-10 priority for me.

This is superb. Where did you get those decals? I didn't think Reprolabels did a set for 07 Ratchet, just DOTM...

 

It's hard being a Bayverse fan

 

NGL, as much as all of us in this thread would love to have some more Bayverse figures, I do think that there's nothing wrong with some other Transformer AUs that got little to no love in these few years to get some attention and be the focus toy-wise at least just a bit. I love me some fair share of G1 and Live-action figures, but I'm also really into Armada/Micron Legend and it's hard to deny that Armada/Micron Legend (And the entire Unicron Trilogy) gets little to no love for 2 decades by this point, and all of the "new" UT figures are either average to subpar figures with compromises, or forgettable remolds of some other CHUG G1 figures.

Universe 2.0 Hot Shot? Terrible, fiddly figure with a mini-con that feels cheaper than most KOs. T30 Armada Starscream? Too small and doesn't scale with anything. CW Megatron repainted as Armada Megatron? Ehh. Siege Hound and Magnus remolded/repainted into Cybertron Hot Shot and Galaxy Force Optimus (respectively)? Forgettable. That epic-looking Takara LG-EX Armada Convoy protytype? Still stuck in development/budgeting hell, with no updates about it since the prototype was shown 2 years ago.



For better or worse, the whole Unicron Trilogy does support Transformers as a brand alive long enough to afford the live-action movies that make this brand popular once again. Not sure if people here would agree with me, but I do think the UT fans deserve better than having figures of their favorite characters been relegated as either subpar figures that do thing worse than their original toys or forgettable remold/repaints of some other figures. Maybe that's also why the prospect of a new Voyager-class Armada Starscream genuinely excites me because I do think the character deserves a genuinely good figure (So was the entire Armada/Micron Legend cast, where almost all of which never got the good figures they deserve for almost 2 decades)

For me, it's somewhere between 4 -5. The design is interesting and a physical figure of that design with the appropriate sizing would be kinda cool, but not necessarily a "must-have".

 

Well, to be fair, we're moving to a point where every Deluxe would just be "we took the vehicle parts and just hung them on the robot".

"In stock soon" with an estimated ship date of 9/3-9/30, but Amazon usually bumps up that date. I ordered Grindor on Monday and it was supposed to arrive 8/25, but it shipped quickly and came yesterday.

 

He's probably like a one or a two for me in terms of priority for me. I really don't see myself spending €100+ on a blink-and-you'll-miss-him character

Honestly I think I've gotten more or less everything I've wanted out of Studio Series at this stage? Maybe just Que? I'm just really not all that bothered about any of the stuff we've got coming up this year, even Jolt

I mean, yeah, it sucks that things are slowing down and we're not getting the same level of new stuff as we have been, but there's been a pretty constant stream of Bayverse toys for most of the last fourteen years, and Studio Series has at least given us a lot of the key characters from the first three films. As @YellowCorvette said, there's other aspects of Transformers that have been ignored for waaaay longer

 

I mean, it’s the 35 anniversary of the G1 movie so Hasbro needs to remind us of it every chance they get.

I'm having really bad sharing luck lately, I posted a $40 Grindor listing from Amazon that sold out 5 mins after I posted, Slug sold out 5 mins after I posted here, etc. Bad look for me!!
