What's the secret for cleaning the cannon?

 

Damn. It didn't occur to me to clean up the cannon. Good job!

Im using jumpwind coat remover. The paint quite thick so need patiently rub lol.

 

since getting a 3d resin printer at Christmas becoming quite proficient with modifications and engineering (and will be posting results when happy - ever the perfectionist) however when I looked at the videos on YouTube of the force of prying open the shoulder joints I noped out. I know with my luck and clumsiness that mine would break!

did ANYONE AT ALL get a Galvatron with CORRECT shoulders?

for anyone without a 3d printer, grab some milliput, fill those holes and find a match on the paint. This will give you a great finish, or buy the resell plug kits

I was really happy when I discovered that I could get the underside of the cannon to tab together more firmly with those tabs.
Before I was kinda dissapointed with how lose the connection was.
I hope you can get it to work for you.

 

There were a few people who found them but not many. IIRC the correct ones also were fairly randomized. Some came from Walmart; one or two came from Amazon. It seems like in this first run, the misconstructed shoulders were the norm. It's yet to be seen whether the Selects edition or the Legacy release will have them corrected.

 

Practically all "correct" Galvatrons were found at Targets. I don't recall a single person saying they got a correct version from Amazon or BBTS.

I took it as a good sign that the stolen sample of Galvatron II pictured here a few days ago was correct.

 

Its almost like the "correct" shoulder were the factory error  

 

What paint was used to color-match the hands?

Just added red silicone details to his shoulder pillars, added a little red to his helmet, and colored his "belt buckle" red.

I added the red details as well but on the front side to match netflix screen accurate lol

Clean

 

I got mine from Star Action Figures UK (arrived with Rodimus yesterday) and it came with the incorrect shoulders. I just swivelled them around, although I thought they looked fine the other way. I considered getting plugs for the pinholes.I wasn’t going to bother as plenty of figures legitimately assembled have them, and they’re not that bad, but they are rather large and sparkly on Galvatron. It’s bugging me a bit more than I thought it would, but I dare not make the fix.

I think I’ll just swivel them back. The lower elevation actually looks a bit more natural anyway considering the slope of the shoulders on the torso. You end up with that unsightly bit on top, instead of the smooth finish, but it’s hardly noticeable from the front.

I am actually very pleased with the figure overall. I’ve yet to transform him.

 

Same here. I fiddling with him for days before actually transforming. Might've tried the shoulder "fix" but with him still being too scarce in my area (don't want to damage it) I'm content to just do the shoulder flip.
