Is the TCW-10 kit still going to be released for the Seacons?

More than likely, and I'm sure a recolor is coming for the Gen Selects release as well.

With it basically confirmed that Menasor is getting a V2, is anyone like... not at all into it?

I know we haven't seen anything, and even if this new group of Stunticons (or whatever other Combiner teams they re-do) end up significantly better... I don't think I can muster it to replace my Combiner Wars teams. They weren't perfect, but they more than get the job done and I don't want to shell out 50% more per figure than I did in 2015/2016 for better versions of characters I already have, for 4-5 pre-movie teams.

Bruticus and Menasor look just fine on my G1 Con shelf, along with the Constructicons. I think I'm burned out on this constant "upgrading" game. I feel the same way about the Prime Wars Legends Class figures getting new small Deluxes, like the Insecticons.

I'm interested in seeing them at least before I decide. I'm REALLY interested in how they handled Motormaster. How did they solve the puzzle of him being correctly sized in both robot and alt mode? (Or did they?)

They're starting with Menasor for a reason, and that reason is that the CW figure was pretty flawed. Yes, if you buy this you are going to be paying more than you did in 2015, but given all the improvements in the line since then, you're likely going to be getting a much better figure for that extra money too. We'll see. We'll have lots of time to decide between the time they are revealed and the time they are no longer available on places like BBTS.

pretty much 100% my attitude on this. The new dragstrip leak seems to give credence to the rumors, but yeah count me in for having collector “upgrading fatigue” especially thinking about replacing combiners at current prices.

I'm considering Menasor 2.0 because I don't like the stability of CW Menasor, but I'm also one of the people who's tired of the "upgrading" game. I want to keep other complaints-free combiners except for Menasor who has stability problems and Bruticus who is my favorite combiner. For similar reasons, I don't feel the need to replace figures like Legends Kup or Blurr that look like Sunbow enough.

Menasor could definitely use an upgrade. He was easily the weakest of the combiners, so I'd gladly replace him.

The only other one I'd consider replacing is Bruticus, just because as much as I like him, if they do improve him, I think he could look much better next to my ER Starscream.

I'm thoroughly happy with all the other combiners though. No complaints major enough to make me replace them any time soon, if ever.

That's totally fair. For me personally I'm at a point where I'm burned out and the fundamental question of getting a figure has moved from "do I have this character yet?" to "Do I want this better version of the same character?". I'm primarily a movieverse collector, I got into CHUG because I wanted to build that cast as well. So Combiner Wars was an easy sell because those characters hadn't been done before. But now that I have those all, and most of the earlier CHUG figures, and a handful of WFC figures that didn't have an earlier equivalent at that point (Shockwave and Soundwave), or who inarguably scale better (Astrotrain, the Voyager Seekers), I want my shelves to mostly stay as they are. Like, I don't think anyone on this G1 Decepticon shelf needs to be swapped out anymore. Maybe Blitzwing, if the new one is outstanding, but maybe not.

I agree, and I'm on even earlier versions than you. I have Generations Kup and Blurr who aren't animation accurate but whose modernized designs I really like. And they're staying, along with Springer and Arcee from T30. Hot Rod (along with Galvatron) was a case of the new one being so overwhelmingly better than the past ones, so I made the choice to upgrade. But I'm trying to put my foot down and end that mentality going forward, and frankly Hot Rod is a far more important character that I'd opt for the best possible version versus the Stunticons (it helps that the former is $30 and the latter group would run $150-170 plus tax).

Needed a break from MP and 3P hunting to reacquaint myself with the line that brought me back to transformers.

    HELL YEAW, BRINGIN THE BEEFCAKE
I took that yellow sword (and the head!) from TR OP and put em on the Tribute OrionPax figure myself

But I f*ckin love CW OP, and CW is absolutely what pulled me back in - hadn't seriously collected since Beast Wars (save for all of Animated inbetween)

Shoppin in a TRU for stuff for my kid, saw CW HotSpot on an aisle display and was like "o snap, TFs are good again"

Not to quote everything , I just wanted to stated that I can understand this...after so many years of collecting, I'm not about to stop BUT...

I find that individual figures are one thing, but combiners are a completely different scenario. The Dinobots were the ones that pulled me into getting more into Transformers than I was at the time as finally, Hasbro did a version that were the G1 toys with modern articulation.

Trouble was, I wasn't impressed by the quality overall, mostly the plastic being the harder and more prone to snapping type, but still, I was pulled into it and being a fan of combining robots overall (Chogokin, Power Rangers, etc.) I remembered the G1 city scramble sets and loved the idea and but never a fan of the quality and design as they were so flimsy and such.

Combiner wars, setting the plastic quality aside, were simply amazing and I do love every one I have, but even a few years, I find that I tend to see the flaws more, one being their size... next to a Voyager/Leader class and they aren't that impressive now, and with Devastators/constructicons as an example, I find myself pulled toward the idea of just throwing the concept of same sized figures across them and prefer the idea that makes them (the teams) unique and not cross-compatible. I'd rather have combiners that are set in size by their alt modes.

Due to some reasons, one being the lack of some figures being available, I started to look at the 3rd parties versions, and found that the larger ones (Devastator sized) fit much better.

But that said, that Hasbro comes out with another Menasor (one that I've never cared much for so never got) I just fell that "fatigue"... that with my usual complaint being that Hasbro does great figures BUT always cuts short from making them feel complete (so 3rd party kits to the rescue or plain customizing and paint), I've reach the point that I predicted, where it takes one heck of a figure to draw me in to spend the over-increasing ludicrous prices.

For them to be able to pull a new version of any figure/character so fast does show what it's all about. So for me, I can't see myself bothering with any new Hasbro combiners at this point, they'd really need to bring on a miracle to change my mind... with my CW Devastator, the other CW combiners I have already, and now the 3rd party ones, I can't see any other that could get to me aside an oversized Superion, as while I love my CW one (KO since "authentic" ones were long gone and way too overpriced, but it's actually better plastic anyways), as planes, I would prefer an oversized version (and one that's all planes, as the one thing I don't like is the switch to the chopper thing) as voyager sized figures would make a lot more sense.

I had to take a short break from my collecting because there have been so many good releases this year and i went a little nuts. My simple motivation for getting figures is "am i going to regret not getting this". Because if i learned anything from combiner wars is once its out of circulation that could be it, otherwise youll be kicking yourself when youre spending triple its worth on after market. Ive bought figures i was mildly interested in just to come back to it months or even a year later and realized i made the right decision for how great it is. Of course it may not be possible for everyone to do such, ive even had to sit out a few really pricy ones my conscience wouldn't allow. But thats my two cents on the matter.

Yeah im getting the same characters in seige and earthrise and kingdom but theyre great in their own right. And they're a part of the TF history.
