Calling utter shit “quirky” and an “art style” doesn’t make it any less shit. Bad comic book covers exist and this is one of them. And wow, if this cover was an example of them putting effort in, them putting no effort in would be submitting a blank page. Which admittedly would be much more aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

 

If we're six months in and the art style is *still* literally the only thing you're capable of taking about I find it incredibly hard to believe you actually care about this beyond the monthly check in to remind us you still hate the old art style.

It'd be like if people popped in to every new News thread about the live action films for the past ten years to complain about Devastator's testicles.

Well rejoice. It's gone. You can move on to discussing the contents of the comic I'm *sure* you're reading.

 

Credit where it’s due, the art looks a whole lot better in this issue and corrects my criticisms of the art in the first six issues.

 

You’re intentionally misunderstanding.
That isn’t calling one thing bad for six months, that was calling six separate issues bad, commenting on the quality of each new issue as it was released.

I stopped criticising issue one when issue two came out but issue two was still bad and so issue two was fairly criticised. And it carried on like that for six issues of staying bad. And now issue seven is actually decent. I’m not seeing any dumb exaggerations of characters here. This is the art we should have gotten since the start of this series.

It looks fine. I'll need to read the whole comic to see if the style holds across different types of scenes. The few faces in this preview, while detailed, felt off.

Again, it's different. Not better, not worse. It feels like a distinction without a difference.

 

SG seems interesting but I hope there's more depth to it beyond just the gimmick of "look at how comically edgy/evil the Autobots are".

I wonder if Blurr is the POV character for the full thing or if he's just getting focus because he's the first toy? I would totally be okay if each issue focused on the 5 characters that are getting toys.

Look how sad Sixshot's eyes are on his disembodied head. Why do I feel so bad for a cameo character with no lines? That's it! We need an SG Sixshot toy or we riot! He is our new favorite sad boy.

SG's art is a bit of a letdown. I swear, comic book companies are just yanking whoever they can find off Instagram that uses prisma markers lmao

 

Definitely possible, but who knows.

If this comic is hinting at a new Sixshot mold and a Metrotitan (whoever this is supposed to be in the SGverse), I'm all in!

 

Are you referring to BW? Because that was the thing I couldn't quite put my finger on. They all seemed smooshed vertically. Like everything was drawn on a page taller than the one that they were printed on.
