Bought everything, bought multiples, bought stuff for displays and bases, started buying vintage... Has a problem... lol
Welcome!! It took me half a year to contemplate to quit the G1MP line to focus on Diaclone only so take your time Score!! Hopefully you don't pay too much DGU crossover has only three releases so far, completing this wouldn't be so bad I have DGU-01 & DGU-03 Take your time to enjoy each of the release ラインナップ|ダイアクロン オフィシャルサイト|タカラトミー RRP & ETA is here, so you know not to pay too much for past releases, unfortunately some of the better past releases of Diaclone Reboot skyrockets. With the monthly releases of Diaclone Reboot, quitting other lines is made easier As for the QCs 'issue', a readthrough of this thread should give some idea of what to look for. it's a lot more enjoyable than it sounds most of the issue is not that widespread. Feel free to ask here for details tho
I really need to avoid those Gridman items - they are "calling to me" with their Siren song... buy me that say - NO I say I'm saving up for a new TV stop - luring me into spending my TV funds on toys you villains !
Well, I finally caved on a DA-70. Spent a little more than retail but I'm not too fussed. Did end up cancelling my Waruder Legion Ripper preorder though. I stared at the thing for what felt like hours waffling on it until I decided that the proportions just didn't work for me.
Oooh, you should try to get one! Gridsuit is a must for any diaclone fan that likes power suits, the Extra Finish Gridman are for those that don't care for the combination gimmick...? (might look great with some ultraman figures though, if you're from that angle) but the Battles Gridman IMO is one of the best Gridman figures we can get right now (time will tell if GSC's Thunder Gridman will be superior or not)
as someone with sets 2 and 3 arriving today, they have been so worth it based off battles gridman alone.
Decided to open my Shadow Dasher and I have zero regrets! I know I'm preaching to the choir, but Diaclone is just the most amazing toy line! I've been having fun going back through the thread and found some alternate configurations for the Delta suit and now I'm of course wanting more. It looks outstanding in these flight modes as well as the helicopter that reminds me of the shooting game Ketsui. I've also fallen in love with my Battle Buffalo all over again... I have the OG on order with the badass throwback colors, but I still maintain that the white one looks super impressive and gives me those 2001: A Space Odyssey vibes I love so much. Now I can have one in upright mode and the other in transport mode. Oh! It's just too much! Heheh!
Hey good to see you on here I think it's safe to say don't sweat the OG Big Powereds now that there's DA-80 on the way. Very pricey and a few issues, so unless you were in love with one of them and had the cash there's no real need. I don't recall any major QC issues other than lately with later models, so it's in your court. Maybe grab some of the cheaper/more available from each sub-line and then you can work out which you enjoy the most. As @Matrix Quest mentioned, it's a very slippery slope. Next you'll be hiding credit card statements and before long your adoration will extend to the vintage toys and then you're stealing your neighbours VHS machine to sell on the street to finance your addictions
Just to be clear... I'm not hiding anything. My wife and I have separate accounts and split the bills. Once those are paid, what we want to spend the rest on is up to us. I've showed her everything and she likes to see what I'm into and that I'm enjoying my toys again. She just showed me some dolls she is ordering earlier today. All's good here. Now, do I want to do the math on how much I've spent on toys this year, especially Diaclone, TFs, GI Joe, Joy Toy, Doctor Who, LEGO, comics, etc.? H3ll no...
Hahaha sorry I meant the vintage reference for you. Not the hiding from the missus or the VHS pawning!
Nice custom Delta configuration! I had posted quite a few a long while back... I'm partial to my hover tank (bottom-left). Buffalo is my favorite mold to date. I gave one of my black versions a full crew of Gammas and love that transport mode. <click thumbnails for larger images... Not posting in "full" as they are re-posts...>
LOL... No worries... I've seen so many that feel they have to hide their stuff, that it makes me sad. My wife knew what she was getting into, at least as far as toys go. I just want folks to know that having to hide your joy isn't always the case. On the later, moving a VCR would be difficult. No hipsters in the boonies. And, my two neighbors are my mom and my sister, that would be pretty messed up.
Hahaha my wife is ok with me buying stuff, but i feel bad because i have SO MANY HOBBIES, like i collect audiophile hifi equipment (amplifiers and speakers - these are even more expensive toys!), vinyl records, and in the past , sneakers (that i cleared mostly because in my country the humidity means the SOLES will crumble in 5-10 years and I am not okay with that kind of investment - so ya its a phase) , she's ok with all the HIFI stuff (as I am in the music industry and its related to what I do) but I just started collecting TF around the start of April 2020 (during the pandemic in my country) so she's still convinced that Its a phase that im going through and im gonna get over it soon Who knows - maybe it is? but for now im just gonna enjoy the roller coaster ride haha I do hide it from her, but actually she doesnt really care, the only thing she cares about is WHERE AM I GONNA DISPLAY IT (hahaha) as my display shelves are maxed out!
Thanks! I was really impressed with the diaclone size (easier to fit into my displays) and quality - its just super playable and transformation well engineered I bought a masterpiece rodimus prime sometime ago and MAN - this single toy almost got me to quite TF collecting, and being new to collecting I didnt know or read about the warning signs for that figure (some TFW2005 users damaged the figure's shoulders and knees just by posing them) so that kinda got me questioning the whole MP Official line (but that's a topic for another day entirely haha) And i dont know if im old - I have an MPM 04 transformers (transformers) that takes me super long to transform and when I do it i always feel like something was about to break - that was not fun. I shared my findings with a lot of local collectors who also transitioned from official MP to either Diaclone or 3P MP and they mostly understood what i meant.
Very clever! It reminds me of my favorite racing game F-Zero. I’ll have to try it out. I sure wish those black gamma units were easy to find because it looks badass that way!
On the Gammas, I bought several collections when I first got into the line earlier this year and ended up with 5. The sixth I managed to get in a Yahoo! auction using a Japanese proxy service. Paid as much in fees and shipping as the final bid price...
it is interesting to see that the Warudaros’s pods are actually beam weapons… whereas the GV is still relying on projectiles and rocket punches
It hurts my feelings that I missed the boat on the DA-50 Warudaros and they’re still using it in the PVs. Sure wish I could find it for a decent price. The new BP makes me feel okay about missing the previous releases as it’s sort of a more serious looking take on the original’s hero colors.
