This drama is ridiculous, I'm sorry for all involved with it. It looks like a great version of Kup, and it's a shame there have been so many problems. I sincerely hope it works out for you guys.

I was checking XTB weibo, in the latest Runabout comment, XTB replied to question about the new Locke, saying it is in production now.

 

To be clear he's reviewing the v1 Locke. IDK why he bothered when the v2 is coming out sometime soon-ish.

 

I'm sure I remember Bobby saying in one of his videos around the time of Locke being released that he won't bother reviewing it until the v2 comes out as he knew the figure had so many problems. Maybe he wanted a point of reference though.

 

That and he said his friend "gifted" it for him to review and he didn't know if it would be Patreon exclusive or not. Although by that it's whenever a friend "gives" you something cause they know it's going to annoy and frustrate the fuck out of you

Yeah, I like a lot of Bobby's stuff, but this I think was a bad call to not wait for the V2. Credit where it's due, he's leaving his overall comparison at least until V2 comes out. Though I still think Koot is gonna win regardless.

 

I think that fact they passed the V1 onto him just to see how he would struggle with it then "friend" might make more sense.

 

they probably have not but i'm really hoping they painted the chest all the way to the top of the insignia spot so the chest windscreen looks smaller and don't look split

 

It's figures like this that make me thankful for the Studio Series line! SS Kup, Hot Rod, etc may not be 100% toon accurate but they're very close and without the frustation and dare I say terrifying-this-could-break-at-any-moment transformations.

Yeah, maybe not monstrosity...but I did NOT like that figure. Such a disappointment. It's like a figure that has the sense of what Kup should look like but got it wrong. Too skinny, legs are too short (or his arms and body are too long), should have been at LEAST as tall as the Ironhide/Impactor deluxes (ie: he's even shorter than his TR version), oversized head, and all the correct facial features applied in a way that just doesn't look right. It just really missed when we're in a place where they were getting it pretty spot on.

One thing he has going for him is a decently good alt-mode. But that figure needs a facelift and longer legs at bare minimum.
