Don't. Their gimmick is grasping at every straw to tie it back to Slug. They did. Look at *all* of the pics. Pipes is part of W4 along with Slammer, Shadow Panther, and Waspinator.
Absolutely everything I have wanted since I started collecting Transformers: a G1 Pipes. Before I actually bought any, I was doing a lot of research, & for whatever reason, Pipes always stood out to me; just a simple design, simple transformation, & arguably one of the best bot modes of the G1 minibots. I was very disappointed to learn there were no updates to him since (not counting that awful CW Optimus repaint). I decided I would wait instead of delving into 3rd party, & I'm so glad I did. I like that they went with the cartoon look, with the white arms (hard to tell if they are painted white or cast in white, hopefully the latter) and visible eyes. I love the red visor look, but this makes it way easier to just pop in a visor & give us both options, as opposed to just being stuck with the visor. I can't wait to see him in alt mode with both pipes plugged in, he's going to look ridiculous. I do wish that they could've found a way to retain his original transformation (the reverse of Huffer's), but this is the next best thing, & I'm fine with it. Hoping we see preorders on Friday! Ha, that's exactly how I view him, as the guy who keeps Autobot City/Metroplex running. And he will be forever endeared to me as the guy who told Blurr to shut it, something I was saying every time he popped up in Season 3.
Lol hard time, we still haven't gotten any Kingdom figures here in Serbia, and only wave 1 of Earthrise (no leaders of course, haven't seen a leader here in years). I just checked and I spent over a thousand EUR at gerrutcamaro this year alone on Hasbro mainline figures.
Great, thank you all! I live in Italy, here distribution is a bit sparse but is getting better since Earthrise, although except in my area. So I resort to Gerrutcamaro as well, or to Amazon.it (which, sometimes, has lower prices, but not by much). Problem is when there are exclusives which neither Gerrutcamaro nor Amazon are getting (or are getting in blink-or-miss quantities). Here Amazon exclusive can be obtained at highly inflated prices, but Amazon has the nasty habit of randomly canceling pre-orders (it happened to me with Siege Greenlight, which, goes now for about € 300 on eBay; I lucked out on the coneheads, though). I particularly dread Walmart or Pulse exclusives. I wish Hasbro could strike a deal for those with some European retailer, or release them here somehow. Back on topic, I too wish Pipes had two blasters, but if he only has one, it is no big deal to me.
Pipes along with tailgate warpath and optimus prime where my first ever tf figures so pipes is a must have. Always loved those figures.
I'm happy with the legends swerve and gears we got in the last few years. Pipes as a prime repaint wasn't good enough. I still bought him though
Here's a neat little detail I noticed on Pipes. This might just be coincidence, or maybe I'm just looking into things too much; I'm really excited for this guy though, so indulge me a little. While people tend to think that the truck "shell" for G1 Huffer and Pipes are the same, there is a few differences, one of these being the grill. For example, Huffer has an "in-set" grill: Whereas Pipes has an outie (there's a mental picture for you): Now, while Kingdom Huffer & Pipes share the same shell, the lip around Huffer's grill is unpainted, making it somewhat resemble the G1 toy: But Pipes's grill is painted around the lip, giving it the appearance of sticking out more: I spent way too much time on this this morning.
he's more white than I had really wanted, which I suppose is more based on the tv appearance than the comics profiled I first saw him in, but on balance a good dude. this is such an itch to scratch, though. finally a proper Pipes! if they make a comics deco I'll just get that too, whatever.
