I have three of these (dark gray) from IKEA and they work terrifically well: HEMNES Bookcase, dark gray stained, 35 3/8x77 1/2" - IKEA The middle shelf must be in a fixed position, but all other shelves are adjustable. I linked my Collection in my sig if you would like to see how figures display on them.
There's only one IKEA in my state and it doesn't have anything I want in stock. Can anyone recommend some cabinets or shelves that aren't IKEA? I've scoured Amazon and found some ideas, but have yet to find anything I really trust. I'm looking for something with shelves big enough to fit Titans.
The rubbery plastic used in CHUG figures has been shown to peel off paint and melt the plastic of transformers their attached to over time. There is a thread about it. The blast effects that come with MPs are made of hard plastic and are different.
Got fed up with not being able to get anything from Ikea, and was having trouble finding anything I liked anywhere else. Ended up buying these. The smaller units are Atlantic Oskar 37 x 60, the black (or should I say "espresso") one is their 40 x 71 shelf . They're designed for media storage, but work pretty well for most figures. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Atlantic...360-DVDs-756-CDs-Maple/17337509?selected=true https://www.amazon.com/Atlantic-Adustable-Organization-Espresso-38435714/dp/B0058O8GUO/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2M7L2DTTIM08C&dchild=1&keywords=atlantic+oskar+adjustable+media+cabinet&qid=1625998870&sprefix=atlantic+oskar,aps,275&sr=8-1
Got a Milsbo case from Ikea over the weekend and it's great! only took about 30 minutes to assemble too. They're more expensive than the Rudsta cases, but easily fits unicron inside
I thought I had posted my display update here. Looks like I just posted it half done. The bottom shelves on the left and right are a hodge podge and a lot of it will probably end up being sold. It is the detritus of collections past. Here are my legends displays plus the fembot army.
I like bright lights, which look really good in person, but washout my pictures. To answer your question its Eris Kultur and Cyclion. There are 3 36x48 Acrylic panels velcroed to the top half of the large display. They have electrical tape forming a black border around the edges. You can tell if you get close to it, most of the time you can't tell. The black borders hide the weather stripping I applied to seal the display.
Curious if anyone has suggestions for wide display shelves that would work for longer diorama type displays and still incorporates some types of doors to minimize dust. I've considered Billy bookcases from ikea but even with the morliden doors I don't really like how the two doors form a line down the middle of the case blocking your view of the figures.
The rudsta RUDSTA Glass-door cabinet, anthracite, 311/2x145/8x471/4" - IKEA or milsbo MILSBO Glass-door cabinet, anthracite, 393/4x393/8" - IKEA are great choices. They do still have a line down the middle, but they're better cases than a billy book case with doors (I've got a billy with doors, 2 detolfs, and 2 milsbo's, the milsbos are my favorites)
Thanks for the recommendations. The rudsta is interesting. It could look nice with multiple lined up side to side. Do you have pictures of your milsbo cases? I'm interested to see how they look filled up with figures.
Very sharp! You've done a good job of filling the shelves without making them look too crowded. Definitely a good case to consider.
Thanks! They're pricey cases, but well worth it in my opinion. slightly shorter but a bit wider than the Rudsta, easier to find in my area as well. Definitely gonna look into getting a few more
Need a display case with the following measurements (maybe take an inch or two off width and height as it doesn't have to be exact). I'm good with shelf units that can be put together as well. Width: 58 inches Height: 38 inches Depth: 12-16 inches
If you can eek out another 1.5" in height then the milsbo case would work within those parameters. Width 40" Height 39.5" Depth 14-3/4 to 16-1/2" depending on if you are measuring the case itself or the feet
I don't think the legs can be excluded because the corner frames get screwed into them (if I'm remembering right)
