That is unsurprising and disappointing. Daytona store mysteriously got 3 origin bee's. Maybe some OPU's didn't get picked up. They aren't populating on the app.
Need a SS86 WreckGar? Transformers Studio Series 86-09 Voyager The Transformers: The Movie Wreck-Gar 630509989683 | eBay
I took a closer look at the aisle reset of the Sand Lake Walmart in Orlando and I am shocked. The transformers section is now 6 pegs wide and has a Commander class price tag on the shelf. Of course the shelves are empty at the moment, but I have some faith the replenishment will happen quickly now that they've counted what they have in stock. If I don't get a Rodimus from the Walmart I live minutes from I will be super upset lol.
North Tampa Update: University Target on Bruce B Downs (near Mission BBQ) has: 3 x Origins Bumblebee (Flying Saucer) 3 x KI T-wrecks
Wal Mart is very much upping their toy game to compete with Target. They even started carrying SH Figuarts recently. This is a hugely welcome development.
Destin Target had some T-Wrecks figures on a dedicated shelf, one row over from the normal TF section.
Seems like Target and Walmart just doesnt want to load their trucks going south of Orlando with any new Transformers stuff. No new Studio Series, No new Kingdom, no Fangry 4 pack. They was like f**k it give South Florida a bunch of Barricade/Dropkick/Stinger/Bee sets and crappy RED figures. All the good stuff dont make it to South Florida. Its a miracle we got plenty of Saucer Bees.
Hey guys! I will be heading to the Orlando/Kissimmee area for vacation next month. Can you recommend any stores in that area that would sell vintage 1980s toys such as Transformers (of course) as well as Masters of the Universe and the like? I have been there several times but never shopped in the area comic shops and stuff. Thanks for your help!
Echo Toy Base has a good selection of vintage figures. It's not too far from the touristy areas either.
The usual recommendation is Acme Toy Shop (905 E State Rd 434, Longwood, FL 32750) but they've got some unfortunate history that leaves a lot of us staying away. Personally, I haven't been by there in over 5 years. I'll repeat that Echo Base (6001 S Orange Ave, Orlando, FL 32809) is a fun little store, they even have the Super7 Snake Mountain! I thought I'd never see one in real life after passing up the preorder. Coliseum of Comics (4303 E Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32803) has a couple of locations throughout the city but they can be kind of hit-n-miss. One of the frequent posters here runs Epic Comics in Waterford Lakes (570 N Alafaya Trail suite 106, Orlando, FL 32828). He's often posting about acquiring new collections and items. I've never been to the store myself (Waterford Lakes at my age!?) but he seems like a stand up guy. Gods & Monsters (5421 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819) is off I-Drive, which is tourist central and a place most locals avoid like the plague. However, I've heard many good things about the staff.
I will second Gods and Monsters. Completely forgot about it. Definitely not a place for Transformers, but they have a good amount of Star Wars, Marvel, DC, Disney and other fandoms. Plus all kinds of comics. And a bar in the back with a Fallout theme.
If your willing to go a bit further out you can check out Atomic Age Artifacts In Wildwood (lots of transformers stuff), Vintage Toy King (had some classics MOTU stuff there last weekend), and Up in the Attic toys (both in Ocala.)
Fun fact, one of the owners of Gods and Monsters is Todd, who some FL folks may remember as the toy manager of Acme back when it was good. When he left is when everything there started getting price-gouged and their whole toy side went massively down hill. He's still a stand up guy so I'll +1 G&M, plus they have a sick Fallout themed speakeasy in store
I'll say Gods and Monsters is a cool place to stop by. I went on a whim, bought some figures and ended up spending a few more hours drinking at the speakeasy.
