I remember owning the G1s when I was a kid.

 

What was especial about the battlecharges in the cartoon? I am aware of the G1 toy gimmick.

 

They were the epitome of generic lol

 

Honestly for me it’s simply nostalgia for the G1 versions and completion of my collection. I am definitely hoping these are fun to flip back and forth.

 

Ah the infamous GM split double I4 engine. What a powerhouse especially with those air vents under the hood with no opening on the top of the hood.... yikes.

 

These look pretty good to me! It was mentioned upthread that they probably use faux parts for the chest. I hope that’s not the case as I’m generally not a fan of fake car parts on the robot mode, but since the odds are that these will be only MP-scale battlechargers we ever get, I might have to overlook it if I want these two knuckleheads represented in my collection.

 

Between these guys and the Omnibots XTB is making me a very, very happy camper. Gimme!

The cartoon? Who cares? They had an issue of the comic where they were sent on a mission by Megatron, decided to just kinda fuck off, went on a vandalism spree, and faced off against Circuit Breaker piloting a monstrosity that had been kludged together from the captured and disassembled S2 Autobots.

 

100% definitely faux roof and windows for the bot mode chests. In the opened door alt mode shots you can see the faux roof and front screen sitting right beneath the real ones, and also that there is an opening 'inner door' in the faux parts to complete the opening door gimmick! In bot mode you can see the chest roof and windows have a different shape and more simplified sculpt to the real ones, and can see the real roof and front screen on the back of the bots.

Basically the same idea used in Fuzz to have the more deformed simpler rear window beneath the real rear window for bot mode accuracy, but applied to the roof and front windows this time.

 

@ibot, speaking of Runabout and Runamuck from the comic, might I make a suggestion for an accessory for them?
