Seeing a new pattern for the scammers:

Check their feedback, and look at the specific items from the recent transactions. There are an inordinate number of transactions for the same figure: War for Cybertron Siege Rumble & Ratbat set. Seriously, you'll see tons of those. If you see those, I'll bet ya dollars to donuts it's a scam.

Sorry you're going through this, man. eBay will have your back. They actually did one refund for me without even waiting for the shipment to arrive; they guy's feedback alone, and the pattern buyer's were pointing out, was enough for them.

 

I initiated a return and contacted ebay to see if they could expedite the process but they said they have to give the seller a chance and can't step in until Monday. I'm sure I'll get a refund, I just wish they wouldn't give the seller the benefit of the doubt because it's clear they don't deserve it.

 

I know the original poster on here says to go directly to PayPal, and I tried that but they give the seller TEN DAYS to respond.... that feels like a long time to let a f***in' crook hang onto my money. I also got doubly screwed, because I'm Canadian... from the time I initially paid to the time I got my refund (in USD), the exchange rate had changed pretty drastically, so I actually still lost money. I got to pay like $15 for the privilege of getting f***ed by this guy. I mean.... he didn't even buy me dinner first.

 

Can you please add baobeixia-88 to the scammer's list? Myself and another poster on here both got screwed.

Yup. Sometimes pays to do that one extra click when looking at feedback. You may also notice that various sellers are using the exact same picture of the Rumble/Ratbat set, making it look as if it's something they have on-hand.

 

Same here. Ordered 2 items off them and the first one 'arrived'. It was a model of a military soldier. Can't wait to see what my next item is. They had a good rating when I ordered which sucks. Well into the 300+ with only a couple negatives then boom, 15 in the last month and their feedback is now private.

 

Aw, man! Sorry this happened. Guys like that, you just wanna give them a good, swift kick in the nuts, ya know?

 

Anyone know if Mascotzone went rogue? Saw their shop is cleared out and I did a preorder for Capone with them back in Dec for a fair price now not so sure. And no I dun goofed and used my card not paypal to purchase this figure. No shipping date provided so Ebay won't step in either.

Ordered KFC Transistor but received a kingdom core Dracodon instead. Do not buy.

And yes, at least it's not a pokemon.. But might as well be for how much I want Dracodon.. Lol.

 

Interesting thing I just found out about this. If I have the seller's items sorted by "Best Match" they show up, but if I change it to any of the other sort options it shows 0 items.

qin-surprise (same seller) is still good. Just got a few Devil Savior guys from them.

I'm curious if you're using a sorting option when viewing their items? I can't remember if I was using a sorting option the first time this happened to me, but this time it only shows item on "Best Match".

 

Possibly but on the bright side I sent him a message to give him two weeks before I got in contact with eBay and they replied in less than eight hours so I guess they’re still filling out the orders but they moved to a different account maybe I haven’t had time to check.

Just checked their shop 0 items showing mascothome has stuff listed.

 

Was it just a screw-up? Like, are they working with you to fix the issue, or have they ghosted you? Just curious, because this is the first post slamming this seller, so just trying to figure out if they've in fact gone to the Dark Side, or if there was a shipping error. Either way, shitty that it happened to you.

 

anyone know what happened to faithtoptalk? was well regarded, i ordered a potp preds sword from him back in april of 2020, and it only just arrived today (albeit folded in half)

 

It has been 3 days since I initiated the return with no response. I am just trying to get the information up here asap because someone asked about this seller specifically. They still have a full store so just want to provide the warning.

Technically it is "possible" that it was a legitimate mistake, but it is a $150+ mp scale figure purchased and a $10 legends scale figure received. I knew when I saw the box it wasn't what I ordered.

I have gone through this process a few times over the last couple months and I am noticing patterns as well. This one had good to average prices when I purchssed but halfway through my shipping time the prices dropped by about 40%. They have fanstoys beachcomber currently listed for $80..apache $90... grenadier $80.. Those are not normal prices for new fanstoys, even from China. I almost doubled down and got a sheridan when they had them for $110 but I waited to see what would happen with Transistor.

The bit that snagged me this time was that another "buyer" had given feedback that they had received Transistor in the previous month before my purchase. Looking back on those buyers now.. I notice that many of them have really low rankings of 2 or 3. I think they are are faking feedback as well.

In general it seems there has been a sharp increase in this sort of thing over the last 3 months. Fortunately Ebay has always made good on their return policy for me. If they hadn't, I would have quit the game.

Yeah, definitely moving to AliExpress for anything from China going forward. May pay an extra couple bucks for a figure, but at least I know they don't get paid until I give the greenlight that I got the goods I ordered.
