At this point, its more likely to do a new Sunstreaker mold entirely than redecoing Sunsurge.

I wonder if I should buy Blaze for my Diaclones though.....

 

Update on my copy of Sunsurge.

It has been about 2 years since I got Sunsurge. I really loved him, and I actually enjoy his transformation.
I did replace him with the MP Sunstreaker for my main collection, and Sunsurge moved to my office.

I transform him off and on while I am on conference calls.

Unfortunately, the plastic in a lot of the hinges and joints has completely disintegrated. Got him back in car mode today, but I don't think that he will stay in one piece if I try and transform him again.
It is a shame, as he really was an excellent figure for his time.

 

To top it all off, Badcube has/had next to no direct after sales customer support. Now Badcube is out of the game so I wouldn't expect their support to get better.

 

Better late than never. I switched out the chrome for the matte silver. Those wheels don't hardly spin.

I still think this is the best sunstreaker alt mode.

@Devastator21 Would be glad to know about this.
It's great to see 3p MP version of Sunstreaker priced at $69 shipped.
As far as Pipes goes, i really wish Badcube would use rubber tires on their minibots...XTB too for that matter.

 

I just hope this means they're coming back, and hopefully do a redeco of Steamroll in Deep Cover colors

All that white plastic makes BC Pipes look cheap imo. If they had decided to paint him I'd have been interested. This way after all those years I still prefer XTB Stax.

 

Yes, plastic quality or paint something makes Piper look cheap. I think quality would be better. It was looking better in Prototype pictures.

 

Sticking up for my boy Pipes! He is awesome and looks great on the shelf. Do not sleep on this guy.

 

Maybe this means a red reissue too. I'd like to have my redstreaker be different. The TT mold just doesn't look good in red.

If you want an MP that matches Masterpiece Sideswipe in in general look, this is the figure you want. If you want something that leans more into the cartoon, you'll want the Masterpiece figure.

Otherwise, they aren't all that far apart from one another in over design.
