It's a Hasbro Pulse exclusive so it probably won't pop up on bbts for a while lol.

TFSource is most likely importing Asian stock (hence the massive markup - they're selling it for double the price on Pulse).

 

I dunno. This seems like a more boring version of the Centurion drone set. Both sets feature a redeco of a previous figure (Brunt and Ractonite) and a bunch of accessories (weapons and blast effects). However, the Centurion drone comes with a more varied assortment of accessories and they all seem to be new sculpts, while this set's blast effects are all redecos of previously released blast effects. I dunno, knowing all that, I can't help but see it as a let-down. At least include new exclusive blast effects or something.

Now the Predacons need their own version of the Wingfinger mold to create their own faction unique Fossilizer combiner.

 

He is remolded, Ractonite is not a Triceratops. Centurion was not remolded.

 

Why can't we have a Human Skeleton Fossilizer? Stick him in some Samurai pretender armor and call him Bludgeon.

 

Every time I see this thread Highlighted, my brain sees “ Tarantulas” and I get excited and then letdown once I reread the title.

I didn't see any photos of the packaging in the images of the leaked/stolen? toy back in April...
(It was released this week in Australia, so I would have thought it was also out in Asia or America by now as well, as we rarely get things first.)

And yes, the blast parts were wrapped up in tissue paper inside the box, which felt really cheap. The parts that came with Centurion Drone were in a plastic bag inside that box. Even if they are trying to cut back on plastic, that would have been quite negligible compared to the amount of plastic in the toy itself.

 

And some more comparison pics... showing that only one part appears to be different (the bone plate at the back of the skull, but not the skull itself).

(try to ignore the front legs of Ractonite in most of the photos, as I didn't notice they were the wrong way around until I got to the last photo... a problem we wouldn't have if it wasn't a parts-former)

 

I mainly want it just because Triceratops.

 

My question is this.

When is somebody gonna make some actual hands for him and Ractonite?

 

The inside of the packaging is gorgeous!

 

He isn't a Gen Select, he has Kingdom numbering

 

I wonder if there are any packaging prototypes floating around for a mainline Ractonite release? I love the way the Kingdom figures look in box. I'd get an extra Tricranius to keep him mint in box if he was in a windowed Kingdom Box.

 

Bit hard to tell for me, but @griffin-of-oz is he molded in translucent plastic?

 

The bags are also a type of plastic that is far, far harder to recycle than the kind the toy itself is made of. Most of the time those just get picked out at the recycling plant and thrown in the normal trash, ending up who knows where for god knows how long.

Tissue paper is at least biodegradable. I for one think that it's a good thing, at least they're also in a little box to keep them in one place in the packaging.

 

It's a combination of orange translucent parts of which quite a few are painted with black and/or yellow details (the torso, dino head, robot legs and and lower parts of it's arms, etc,) and black molded plastic parts like the connector pegs and robot face .

I was not a fan of the original Fossiliser decos, (saw the others a few times, did not find them appealing) but I'd absolutely get them all if they came in these types of colours. Otherwise, I'm guessing I'll only have this, and perhaps Dracodon.

One thing, though, I would rather have had weapon, tool, etc type accessories than blast effects.

 

I prefer the paper/cardboard packaging . It makes it much easier to get the figures, accessories, etc out and I can throw it straight into the normal paper/cardboard recycler.

I tend to deal with a lot of boxes, so I appreciate it when things are made easier for me. And, believe me, it makes a huge difference, when you're busy.
