It's inaccurate. The visor is way too large (almost 30% taller) and the helmet itself the wrong shape, being too square. It's frustrating because Hasbro has fixed helmet sculpts... that are only on the metallic figures. I'm hoping they'll do a MMPR five-pack of normal versions with the updated helmets. Only way I could be convinced to buy more LC after all the bullshit that forced me out. (and if they finished Time Force but fat chance of that ever happening)
I don't see the pessimism about them not finishing teams, recent ones aside (seriously Beast Morphers was five rangers and we could only get three?). The most recent wave to hit retail had a troop builder villain, and three non-red, non sixth rangers. Will there be bullshit to get the girls like the Kat set? Yeah probably, but I see Hasbro making their way through the teams they've started.
Honestly Shamanking, had I not been burned by Bandai before, I probably wouldn't worry about Hasbro not completing teams. However, I waited with excitement to complete my Figuarts of Jetman, Boukenger, Hurricaneger, Dairanger, Dekaranger, and Go-Busters for a couple of years only to be given a middle finger by Bandai. Thus, I can not help but being pessimistic when it comes to Sentai/PR teams these days. I know people would hate it if they did a 5 pack of the MMPR team, but I wouldn't mind it if it included fixed head sculpts, the ranger sticks and ranger swords for all 5 rangers, and then the previously mentioned ranger specific posing hands. Maybe even some explosions or something would be nice too. Hell, have the thing come with a nice lightning diorama background or something.
That's an absolutely fair reason. And while I certainly believe Hasbro's been slower than they need to be and pulled some annoying bullshit (see Psycho Rangers and aforementioned Kat 2-pack) let's remember that we are very close to completing a few teams in the next year (probably). -All of Zeo is done, we're just waiting for Pink and Yellow to come out. -With TJ and Cassie coming we only need Zhane. -2 away from Dino Thunder, and one of those is a Tommy so that'll be sooner than later. -1 away from the "core" SPD team. -2 away from Beast Morphers though who knows how long that will take. Even not counting Beast Morphers that would be five complete teams (ok, semi in SPDs case) plus two full evil ranger teams!
Actually we only need one more for In Space since Cassie is coming out after the two-pack with TJ. Give us Zahn and we've got a third complete team at that point.
I feel like that'd be both a shitty and fair thing to do, but it's legitimately the only way I can be convinced to complete teams at this point given how awful it's been. Unless I get all five in a box I can't guarantee I'll be able to finish a group with spotty releases in Canada and the general bullshit of certain figures being exclusives. Damn that makes me want Overdrive rangers. I hated the show, hated the characters, but I really like those suits.
Mars Adam I’m pretty sure was in space black. Green Shredder will be revealed today. The Monsters right now I couldn’t tell you. The assortment for them seems to be axed. Hasbro instead of canceling most of them, is going to try and move them to fan channel exclusives like eye guy.
The Turtles turned out pretty well. I do agree with others who say they're a bit off compared to other Turtle figures. I don't know how accurate these are to the comic though. Unfortunately, $52.99 X3 plus whatever Shredder costs... yikes. I appreciate that Hasbro released these because short of Pink being a retool if they did anything to it besides remove the skirt, these are new molds for the bodies and weapons that have no reuse potential. But a ~$13 increase per 2-pack hurts especially if signs are pointing towards more price increases in the future. I also take issue with splitting the Turtles across three packs instead of giving them their own packs and putting April and Shredder together because some people are just going to want the Turtles. All three sets would've sold just fine that way but they couldn't resist making another Tommy. And because he HAS to exist, doing the 2-packs "correctly" would result in the April/Tommy pack selling infinitely worse and Hasbro can't have that. They also could've made Tommy the single release over Shredder because those who want to army build this version of the Foot, can do so much more easily but no... Sorry if you've been having a rough time but it's really shortsighted to be against these releases which have amazing crossover appeal. Ninja Turtles are bottom of the barrel? Really? Catering to supporters from day 1 is what they've been doing this whole time according to those who love LC and these releases are such a small percentage of what's out so far. And there's no way comic readers alone made these sold out. As for these instead of more MOTW, the market has spoken and those releases as they are are not what fans are looking for. Pudgy Pig's price has also turned a lot of people off despite looking like a fantastic figure. Villains are just going to be a slow grind which is nothing new. If anything you should be complaining about a second Astronema this soon instead of Darkonda/another villain being packed with Ecliptor. It's one thing if you had legitimate criticisms of the Turtles figures themselves but you don't and are basically saying that fans of the Rangers comics aren't worth Hasbro's time because you don't care about the comics. Gatekeeping isn't going to get us anywhere when the success of these keeps LC going. It makes complete sense to release these if they had the license and it has paid off with them all being sold out. Honestly, I like the Legacy Green Ranger quite a bit and it might be Bandai's best offering. Main issue are the roids and not being 6 inch. Also, the helmet teeth aren't painted in but Hasbro followed suit on their standard release by just painting the entire "mouth" silver and leaving out the suit diamonds when they got the Fighting Spirit figure correct in both cases. I can't speak for articulation but Legacy has a much better and shinier shade of gold. LC struggles a lot with that for some reason. Goldar was very dull despite what the promos photos showed but on the other hand Legacy Zeo Gold's coloring was a disaster. I like my Green Ranger to have a neck. The LC looks really restricted and uncomfortable with the Shield on and the helmet's pretty chubby. The LC MMPR Morpher sculpts are awful. They're waaay too tiny and thin. Can you imagine the LC hands holding that thing? Not to mention that they REALLY wanted it to fit within the belt when the Morphers are just bigger than the belt in most material.
5 packs like this I'd be perfectly fine with, or release multipacks of the yet to be released team members. My biggest issue with team based 5 packs is when a few members get released and then the only way to get the rest is to also rebuy the ones that already came out To be fair, Tommy is kind of the catalyst of the crossover story, so he's kind of necessary in a crossover line, though I do agree he should have been the single pack so it's easier to troop build
Mars Adam hasn't been shown yet, that code has a product number right in line with the rest of Wave 9 but In Space Black ended up taking it's spot, he was coded BLM Mars and has his original product number from when he was supposed to be in Wave 7 before being delayed in favor of the MMPR White repack.
Hoping we get the corrected helmet in regular red soon. Would love if they made an accessory pack with corrected helmets and weapons, but they’ll probably release the new helmets in 2 packs, like they did with Aisha (vs Scorpina).
I mean so far it seems the normal corrected mmpr helmets will all be in 2 packs, yellow and pink are getting the fixed helmets in 2 packs abd I believe there was a few leaked ones with mmpr Rangers as well that presumably have the correct helmets
If I had to make a prediction or speculation f9r Friday, they would do a recap of the ninja turtle crossover, then reveal astronema and ecliptic, hopefully pirantishead and what you say is in space black, unless it's Adam's appearance from in space. All I can recall from that episode is Adam's new hairdo and a broken morpher. Unless I'm missing something.
Thanks! Honestly there’s too much stuff I keep track of, everything is starting to become hard to remember.
